I am VeZuzon, first born of the line of Tyridalis to Syndara and LeTharos, a conjurer of fire and ice alike, and gifted with the speed rivaling that of a storm spawned by the gods of thunder and lightning themselves... Or so I'd like to think. Back on planet earth, in the far off Milky Way galaxy, I am Jeffrey. I am a 20 year-old electrical engineering student in the US of A. I don't have that one "particular" talent that sets me apart. However, I have the ability to pick up skills relatively fast, and have an assortment of "random" yet, interlinked skills. I am a pilot, an auto mechanic, an engineer, a fabricator, an off-road enthusiast, a hunter, a runner, a leader, a writer, a teacher and a friend. There are quite a few things I would like to accomplish on my bucket list, but I'd say I have an ok repertoire to begin with. But many would be wondering what brought me to a place like this. That, alone, could be a fun story to write. However, this is a condensed version: We have a Bronies and Pegasisters Club at my university, and I decided to attend a nice get-together/fan-fic story presentation by fellow members. Reading and listening to their phenomenal literary skills, I had a spark re-awoken in me that hadn't surfaced in many years. I hadn't written with such passion for a long time, because I didn't realize I still had a reason to. One thing lead to another, and I had so many ideas coursing through my brain that I knew there had to be an outlet somewhere. I found it. Being that it's the condensed version, its just a simple way of how I found this site (after a reference from a fellow Brony to this particular one). I'm assuming there is a particular outline to how one would describe themselves, and their particular influences, in their profile. In regard to that, my problem is two-fold: Be that as it may, I do have a few influences that are relevant to this situation in regards to my writing. In middle school, I was hopelessly in love with this wonderful (or so I thought) girl who was also my first love. Those years in middle school were a roller coaster ride of emotion, learning, and getting bitch-slapped by reality. At the time, I was a fan of World of Warcraft. As silly as the game may seem to some, I was really fascinated by the backstory to the entire universe, and its influences on your own character. Blizzard is a very creative entity, and I commend them on their work. There was one particular novel I did write (only around 100 pages, so nothing too massive) that heavily involved my life in middle and high school, and I liked to set it in the universe that was WoW (human Alliance side, for those who are curious). Continuing on to the middle of high school, I finally decided to get serious with a crush I had since middle school (after the first one, and a few others). It was, and still continues to be, the best decision of my life. As I went through the end of high school, I really started to become fascinated with dragons, and the magic behind them. Mind you, I was always fascinated with them as a child, high school is when they really started to become incorporated in my story ideas, as well as dreams (both day-dreams in calculus class, and night). I still love them, and appreciate the majesty behind what they really are. Finally, the influence that actually lead to me becoming part of this, how would one say, cooperation of fellow literary artists: My Little Pony. It's quite funny, actually, because I started out as one of "those guys." A friend of mine introduced me to a few funny youtube creations based on the cartoon, then tried to convince me about watching the show, itself. I sloughed it off, thinking he was crazy, and I didn't want to look like a sissy, yada yada. Fast forward to freshman year in college, I had made a really good friend who was also a so called "Brony." After getting bored one day, I decided to give it another shot. Now, I'm hopelessly engrossed in the fun little show. I don't know exactly what it is that makes it so interesting, but it really brings me back to a time of actual wonder, and innocence as a kid, free from the knowledge of what the world really is. It's a fun way to escape the hectic life of being a student at an engineering school. Even so, I'm starting to see it from a different side, more as a creative base to draw fun ideas from, and develop whatever other creative stories or dreams come from it. That's what makes me who I am, at least that is relevant to this site. I look forward to reading more literary works of artists alike, and maybe publishing something of my own creation in the future... May the stars watch over you. Jeffrey (VeZuzon) |
