I've always liked to write, ever since I discovered Harry Potter several years ago. I'm not an expert, I'm actually very far from one. Here's an anecdote of mine to read so you can see my style of writing.

Anecdote:

In 6th grade, we had this assignment where we had to complete a story (in french). It was in October, so my teacher had chosen a Halloween-ish theme. The story was about a person (it was written in the first person, so it was as if you/me were/was the main character) that was walking down the street and noticed and abandoned-looking house. That person (you/me) decided to have a peak and slightly opened the door. From there, we had to continue and write the rest. I wrote a rather odd story about a weird looking portrait of a man in the hallways, a dusty and yet fancy looking type of furniture and a mysterious squeak coming from upstairs. I wrote that the person was intrigued and decided to go upstairs to see what was it that made the strange squeak. I wrote about the feeling of being looked at, the feeling that one of the stairs would break due to it's fragility like in some horror movies. I wrote about a pile of dead rats located in one of the rooms, and a freaking scary young girl that seemed lost in her own mind, sitting on the chair in that very room. The person then asked what she was doing there, and she asked to be sent home. I wrote about the person walking her home, and about the strange feeling that the person shouldn't have accompanied the little girl... Literally, that how I ended the story: that the person felt the strange feeling and so on.
Two weeks later, my teacher had finished correcting it and she gave them back to all of my classmates. I was intrigued by the fact that she hadn't given mine back. Then, as the class had settled down and finished comparing notes with their friends (I being awkward when I asked for their notes and then when being asked had to say I didn't receive it), my teacher took my story and read it aloud to my classmates. Then she commented on it, saying the only problem with it was that I used different verb tenses and that it was better to just use one or two. At break time, my classmates came asking if I was gonna write a part 2 or something. And, encouraged by the positive feedback (feedback??), I actually did write a part 2. But I never had the courage to hand it to my teacher and ask her if it was okay. By the end of summer, I regrettably threw it away.
