Author has written 1 story for Harry Potter. So what started me on fan fiction was Harry Potter. I finished the series and I was profusely disappointed that it was over so soon! I finished it over about a 1-1/2 month period and felt very depressed that my magical world that I could escape to with only the opening of a cover and the flipping of a few pages, that entwined so perfectly, weaving me my own world that I was so desperate to join, had come to a end... doesn't it feel like the sun dying and that eight minutes of life and light that you would have left when you begin to approach the last few pages of a book? Knowing it will the end will come, and all too soon, yet trying to conquer the inevitable, desperately trying to stretch the time you have. So I went searching for a continuation of this perfect world, and I discovered fan fiction. My favorite writer of Harry Potter fan fiction is so because they wrote it in such a way the it perfectly coincides with JK Rowling's. They closely followed facts from the book and that was very refreshing after reading so many fan fictions that completely ignored some very important details from the book. I believe all of us fan fiction readers would give just about anything for the ability to reincarnate as a character in our favorite book and just live as them instead. In my case, I would want to be Lily Evans. She was smart, caring, and gave her life for her son, and then in death, comes back through her spirit to guide her son through the toughest battles of his life. When that characters in Harry Potter would complain about homework I think, I would wake up at 5:30 everyday to do my homework, it's incantations and spells, I mean , that would be better than life itself!!! So with my discovery I figured I might as well try to write my own version of what I would like to read about it. In Harry Potter I like the couples Ron and Hermione, Harry and Ginny, Lily and James, Remus and Nymphadora (Tonks), Neville and Luna, Bill and Fleur, Draco and Pansy. I play the violin and dream of attending college at Emory University to become a neurosurgeon. Some things that make my life have meaning- Reading, music - and by music I mean music from the 70's to late 90's. The age of Rock. Examples are Queen, Kiss, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Guns n' Roses, Bon Jovi, Aerosmith, Twisted Sister etc...- ,my dog, The Big Bang Theory - the show ,not scientific theory-, coffee- more specifically the two best kinds of coffee; double cream double sugar coffee or iced coffee with cream and sugar and a mocha flavor shot from Dunkin' Doughnuts-, cooking, , swimming at my aunt's lake house, any Audrey Hepburn movie, and of course, the world's number one anti depressant ( AKA whip cream). Rock and roll is the best kind of music there is to me. I know, some people think 'It's to loud' and other things like that, but us who live for it know we love it loud so we can feel the drums solos and let the words fuel our passion. Rock and roll is the best kind of therapy there is - well along with reading of course-. When your feeling down just get lost in Hey Jude or November Rain and it takes you to a world that's all your own, its like books in that way. When ever I hear More Than A Feeling's lyrics, 'I woke up this morning and the sun was gone. Turned on some music to start my day, and lost myself in the song, I closed my eyes and I slipped awwwaaayyyy!!!!!!!!!!' I think of how that's what happens to me whenever I listen to music. In other words, you have to yell and try to get my attention because it's like I slip into a daze. Haha. |
