When life gets too hard
When the burden of each day becomes too much
When you rather stay inside than go to face the world
When each step you take feels like you're pulling a two ton weight
When pulling yourself out of bed feels like an impossibility
When the thought of you seeing the light of day makes you have a headache or a migraine
When you rather sleep your life away than go outside to friendly Hey's
When pulling yourself out of bed makes you stumble to the floor
When you think your heart can't take much more
When you rather stay in the darkness of sleep than hear your alarm beep
When you rather say good-bye to the day than say hello to a friendly face
When life begins to chip you away, eat away the remains
When life becomes an incredible pain
When you feel there's nothing left
Hope for change
Hope that you'll be heard
That your voice will matter in the tiniest way
That you're voice will help a life to be saved
Continue to live so you can inspire others to do the same
Every life that is taken is one that can't be replaced
And the hurt and pain that comes after that is one that can't be erased
Live your life so you can be a reminder the world
That it gets easier
When life gets too hard

For me, some days it's my favorite TV shows, other days it's the time I get to sing in front of my choir class and not be the nameless figure in the back. It's hard, and no one seems to understand but one day you'll look back on you life and say "I MADE IT", and no one can take that away from you.

Hey my name is Imani best known as DatJoyBlue for my wonderful poems and fanfiction stories. I am 16 and I'm a TV addict. I watch a lot of crime drama. One day I hope I can be someone who can change at least one life, save one life by being motivational or putting criminals behind bars, or even bring life into the world and making sure that the lives that are here, are safe. I have a lot of things I want to be when I grow up. One of them being a cop or F.B.I. agent, I've also thought about being an O.B.G.Y.N. which is someone who delivers babies; a forensic anthropologist (even though I suck at science).Or maybe even a federal prosecutor, or I can be a social worker for children of abuse. I've even thought about being an actress and/or a singer (That has nothing to do with changing the world but I always thought if I became famous I'd put my money to good use.)

My mom says I can be anything, on a good day I'll believe her. Hopeful I can do anything I wish to.

I hate the fact that people judge others because they don't fit into this neat and perfect little box. Everyone's different, and just because others don't think that it's socially acceptable to be who you are, doesn't mean that you should be put down for just being you.
