Kate and Caroline are on loan from Last Tango, which was written by Sally Wainwright who has now finally admitted that it was a mistake to kill off Kate. Here K and C will be treated with respect and love and some wrongs will be righted. The story starts on their wedding day but there are some twists along the way and the authors hope that these changes will meet with your approval

This is my take on Caroline and Kate's story. My first attempt at FF. All feedback gratefully received. Rating changed to T to reflect future content.

Caroline and Kate split up after their weekend at the hotel. They haven't seen each other for two years when they meet again.

We meet Caroline and Kate as they are still just acquaintances. From chapter 6 and on some of the key scenes and dialogue from Last Tango in Halifax seasons 1-3 are sprinkled here and there while the actual story goes in a bit of a different direction. This is only the 2nd story I've ever written, so I'm learning as I go(and having a load of fun!).

We are all familiar with the start of Episode 5, Series 1 when Caroline and Kate share their first passionate kiss. But what happens at 4-o-clock when Caroline knocks on Kate's door?

So, I'm taking it back to before all the horror of the last couple of weeks and seeing if there was any possible way that things could have gone slightly differently. Not sure how long this will be.

In response to the tremendous stuff-up that has occurred on Last Tango in Halifax, let me FIX it for you. The policeman knocks on Caroline's door, and after that we have a tale of realisation, hurt, recovery, pain and joy all rolled into one. With all we know of Caroline, we know this won't be easy for her, but what we do know is that Kate and Caroline will live happily ever after

Sally Wainwright may have chosen to write-off the wonderful coupling of Kate and Caroline but I certainly haven't.

This is set two years post LTIH Series 3 and gently introduces a new woman into Caroline's life.

Caroline meets Kate under very different circumstances - a damsel in distress on Hallows Eve. A mysterious Kate has a secret that might break a growing closeness with Caroline. How will it develop and will they both find the happiness they so dearly seek. The idea is not mine, it is based on a book by Karen Williams called Love Spell. Characters belong to Sally Wainwright.

This is an AU story, which in my head needs to happen. whilst I acknowledge Sally Wainwright and the bbc There will be no sad ending from me ... Caroline and Kate will have their happy ending.

Going back to the beginning with a few variations and the bits in between we missed. (It's been a while so bare with me :) )

It's Christmas Eve and Kate has a sudden change of heart and returns to the wedding. She asks Caroline to dance and they take to the floor, totally oblivious to anyone. On Valentines' day, Caroline proposes and Kate accepts. But what happened in 7 weeks to change things? Why Kate is still alive in my world.

Caroline is a mum of 2 with a busy job and a husband who has just walked out on her. Kate is a brilliant teacher that works too hard to hide the fact that she is lonely. This is a prequel to Last Tango in Halifax Series 1 and sets out one possibility as to how our 2 favourite ladies could have got together.

It's been a long while since I've posted any stories...but these two...they just beg for more. My take on a Caroline and Kate beginning. Heavy on character in the beginning, but will try to move into more dialogue driven updates in future. The characters are not of my own making. However, they do bend to my will...in my wee corner of the universe. If only on screen, too!

This begins as series 2 ends. An attempt to rewrite... My first ever foray into fanfic - not sure yet how many chapters but we'll see.

Before Kate divorced Richard she had a baby called Daisy. And now Daisy's three and her favourite person in the whole wide world is Caroline Elliot. And that's Kate's favourite person too, of course, although Caroline doesn't know it. So how is Kate going to balance the demands of her smitten daughter without falling even further in love with her boss?

I have commandeered the characters from LTiH since the creator has taken leave of her senses and plunged into melodramatic brutality. For Kate and Caroline, there will be trials. There will be tribulation. There will be drama. But there will be no gratuitous indulgence in tired lesbian tropes.
