Things were out of the ordinary for Mal. One moment she's at Cotillion and in the next two years have passed! Mal seemed to be the only one with the memory problem, so she ignored it. But when her panic attacks re-emerge with voices yelling at her to wake up, she's unsure what to do. As long as she's with Ben, everything will be fine . . . unless he's the reason she can't wake.

Truthfully, nobody expected the people of the Isle of the Lost to really live, let alone thrive. Ben and most of his friends grew up not liking the idea of the Isle and the other kids being forced to live there, but they didn't know the extent of it because King Adam didn't want them to.
