![]() Food For Thought Why is a Raven like a Writing Desk? - Mad Hatter, Alice in Wonderland xxx And Now A Word From The Resident Writer Hello, The name's V.A Lewis. What does the "V.A" stand for? I dunno, I just think it sounds cool (or do I? dundundun). There really isn't much to say about me. I like reading. I like writing. I write Harry Potter fanfiction - mostly Post-Potter because I have my own headcanons for what Harry's children are like. I am an old person, think graduate school old. I have two favorite authors that I admire and aspire to be like. Speaking of favorites... In this paragraph, I am going to insert a shameless plug about my favorite authors and book series. Okay, maybe not a paragraph per se but rather a list of favorites because sometimes a paragraph doesn't quite cut it. 1) BRANDON AWESOME SANDERSON. Okay, his middle name isn't AWESOME but it SHOULD BE. Brandon Sanderson is the shizzle, man, the shizzle. He is the writer that I wish I could be. I'm not just talking about writing skills here, I'm talking about his true blue honest to god personality. I met Mr. Sanderson one time and there is nothing artificial about this guy. As for his writing skills? Oh. My. Fiddlesticks. Every single detail, man, every single detail is mind blowing. He doesn't write, he paints with words. Every scene, every action. And then there's his characters. They aren't characters. They are human beings. Real life humans with emotions, thoughts, quirks and ideas. 2) Neil Gaiman What can I say about Neil Gaiman? He's British. His novels aren't for everyone but they are at the same time. If you like good prose, dry humor, interesting plots, Neil Gaiman is the writer for you. If you like action adventures and what not? Well, you're looking in the wrong direction. What makes Gaiman amazing is the fact that he's not just a writer, he is everything. Screenplays, books, poetry, picture books. Yeah, you get the point. Top that off with the fact that he's a great person? I got to meet Neil Gaiman. I couldn't talk. Guess what he did? He asked if I wanted a hug. :D I asked if I could floof his hair. He said yes. :3 That is how awesome Neil Gaiman is. And that, ladies and gents, is the end of my shameless plug along with my "About Me" section. Wait, there's one thing I should add before people make comments on my stories about me being racists to my Asian characters by making Asian jokes. I'm Asian. That thing up there? The whole "V.A Lewis" thing? Yeah, that's something we call a pseudonym. Peace. |
