Naruto had wanted to create his own path, very different from the one that Kurama had shown him –married to a girl he didn't love and trapped in a job he hated– and to give Sasuke a true chance at happiness. Traveling back to the past was the first step. Now Sasuke and he must locate Itachi and together, the three of them, embrace a new path full of danger, discoveries, and love.

Sasuke's daughter is the only person he has ever shown love, and he's quite content keeping it that way. However, being a single parent is not always easy - especially when you're about to take over a company and need to prepare for it. Naruto just had a bad day and ended up losing his job.
