So, who am I? It is a difficult question to answer as I’m not always totally sure who I am from one moment to the next. The truth is, all I am certain of is that I'm not fairly the same particular person as I used to be when I first arrived on the Chinese language mainland, all those years ago. To maintain issues simple, I'm was not born on the Mainland, or to two Chinese mother and father, so my views are quite completely different from most Mainlanders, and from most 'overseas Chinese language'. How I consider myself: Candy
Harmless
Honest
How my pals consider me: Cussed (in a great way)
Opinionated
Obsessed with my hair
How I really am: Loyal
devoted
borderline obsessive (and never just about my hair)
My social views are conservative, my politics are average, and my method to English spelling and grammar is kind of liberal. I've lived and studied in varied locations in each Asia and the West, so I do know what I'm speaking about, most of the time anyway. Despite appearances, I'm not some form of activist. I may write about controversial issues like Sino-American relations and the suppression of democracy in China, but I don’t protest in the streets and I most definitely don’t need to lead the following revolution. China can’t be changed overnight and it actually can’t be changed by a couple of blogger writing away within the back-rooms. So I’m not even going to try to change it, solely to put in writing about it. As anybody who reads my weblog regularly will know, I have various pet hates, together with commercialism, cultural imperialism, and the insidious manner that unfastened western values seem to have crept into Asian society; a state of affairs that I may go on about about for days, but which you most likely don't need to hear about right now. Apart from this, I’m a totally-fledged member of Technology X and cynic dwelling in a world that swings between unbelievable naivety and utter paranoia. If it's a vogue then I don’t wish to follow it, and if it is a development then you may make sure that it won’t symbolize me. Oh, and before you ask, I am not Chinese language-American, or some other sort of America for that matter. Why am I blogging? There are reasons why I'm running a blog, the primary of those is that I've truly lived in China, and I don't imply Taiwan or Hong Kong. I imply the actual heart and physique of China - Mainland China. I've seen issues that most people by no means get to see, and experience events from a perspective that most people don't understand exists. Naturally, I really feel a necessity to tell folks about it. The opposite purpose that I'm blogging, the primary one as issues stand, is because I occasionally really feel incredibly exasperated on the ignorance that is allowed to exist on the planet, and by the actions of a number of teams who appears to be going to concerted effort to take care of this ignorance. These teams being: Politicians with a vested curiosity in ensuring that present events and historical accounts are recorded only in a method that's favorable to their cause.
Media companies that care less about informing the public of both sides of an argument, than they do about reinforcing folks's views on the aspect that almost all suits the agency.
Media bosses who care much less about providing an truthful account of the information than they do about making money. As such, I am strongly of the opinion that an excessive amount of vital data is being managed by individuals who shouldn’t be trusted handy out complementary fragrance samples, not to mention direct public opinion. For this reason, I made a decision to attempt to present a supply of China information that's not widely lined by the “huge media”, and to cover occasions from the angles that they conveniently neglect exist. I also really feel compelled to doing this in English, a language that's accessible to much of the world. Out of this, the blog that's Offended Chinese language Blogger was born. After Thoughts There are some issues that simply want a voice that's not waiving a charity assortment envelope at you whereas it's talking, or that need a counter voice to present the opposite facet of the story in a world awash with propaganda written by the prominent Chinese media and the dominating American information corporations. That is what this blog is for. I'm not specifically attacking or defending China and I'm not writing with out knowledge of Chinese history, tradition or politics. If I don’t embody one thing it doesn’t mean that I'm not conscious of it, only that I haven’t felt the necessity to embrace it. I will gladly debate the issues, but don't feel obliged to post mean minded feedback for those who do not agree with what I say and are not keen to listen. Lastly, I’m not politically backed, I’m not getting paid for this weblog and you don’t have to read what I am writing in the event you don’t like it. My websites: Paleo Recipe Book
