Some Angst for Deeks when he finds himself relieving his torture, but Kensi is there to help him.

The job was done. He'd done what she asked of him. And he went back to being still, to being nowhere, to waiting. She'd told him they'd be back to set him free. She'd promised. Her face had been grim and her voice had shaken and she had promised.

... She saw him once before in the moment when he realized he was going to die. She once watched the knowledge of his own imminent death cover his face. She saw it the third time she ever worked with him, and has never let herself forget it. Kensi knows her partner's not the weakest link, and this time he's got a team who's got his back.

As Deeks sanity hangs on by a thread it is up to Kensi to make him realize that he is loved and that he is strong enough to come back to her. Guilt has been eating away at Sam and he has to resolve his issues with Deeks before it tears him apart from the inside out.

He was hallucinating. It was a damn good hallucination. He closes his eyes to see if he'll get back to it. (post-Descent) (trigger warnings: aftermath of torture, suicidal thoughts.)

Choking back the sob, she raked in her partner's tear-streaked cheeks before cataloguing the extent of his injuries in the most painful couple of seconds of her life. She had to get him outta here. Dropping to her knees, she forced herself not to touch him, unable to unglue her eyes from the torture device jammed in his mouth. Post-Descent. WOTD: Compunction
