I'm a secondary school teacher in the UK. I adore my job - it's better than I could ever have imagined it would be on the fateful December day I was interviewed for my place on a teacher training course. I've had some of the most amazing experiences of my life since I began this job, met some of my closest friends and laughed almost every single day.

However, in my spare time I write. Writing is something I've done since I was about seven. I've moved through a range of different genres - horse stories, animal stories, teenage angst stories, romance and now, fanfiction.

I've been fanficcing about seven or eight years now. In reality, it's something I've been doing unconsciously as long as I can remember, borrowing characters from stories and writing my own plots. The Saddle Club got quite a battering when I was younger. I spend less time in fantasy land these days than I did when I was at school and university - mainly because I end my days so exhausted!

Ultimately, I want to get something published. I've had a new idea in the last few days which I think could be that book, but the likelihood of it making the transfer from head to page is limited - especially as I still have to finish several fanfic stories, not least my current fave, Lucky. It wouldn't be the first time I thought I'd hit on a genius idea and it failed big time! If I can't get it written this summer, it won't happen, as teaching and writing do not sit well together!
