Redemption or Retaliation?

Jax/Tara. After 9 years away Tara comes back with a kid. Full summary inside. Slightly AU.

This AU starts out with Tara visiting Jax in prison for the first time, set between season 3 and 4. But things are rocky for this couple...Tara and Jax took a break before he went in, Tara not getting past all the crap she went through in season three.

Klaroline set in Regency era. It's 1809, the beginning of the season in London, the wealthy Pierce sisters, with their companion, Caroline Forbes, arrive from Virginia. Entering the aristocratic world of the ton, they soon meet a particular family, among them, the infamous, troubled playboy Niklaus. AU and Dark, includes most of cast with content rating up to M in later chapters.

Unable to cope with his son's death, Klaus turns off his humanity. Elijah and Rebekah try to make him turn it back on but face failure after failure. Fearing he's lost to them, they decide to enlist Caroline's help in a last desperate attempt. Their plan is put in jeopardy when a surprise awaits Elijah in Mystic Falls.

"Every time I think maybe I'm headin' in the right direction, I end up in a place I never knew could feel this bad." Reeling from his wife's death, Jax is plunged into a catatonic state where he's bombarded with beautiful and painful memories of his life with Tara. When he recovers, which direction will he take?

It has been a very long and lonely summer for Caroline as everyone has either left town or started a new relationship after graduation. Now that the summer is over and college is about to start, Caroline finds herself closer to the one person she should be avoiding completely. Disclaimer: Story takes place after the season 4 finale.
