Quick update 3/4/10: I have most of the rest of FTP plotted out, but managed to severely concuss myself and have had migranes, lack of attention span, and a general constant headache that isn't conducive to writing. The worst of it is over and I should be posting another chapter soon.

Watching:
-Rosario + Vampire - I swore I wasn't going to watch anything with any Vampires in it as the whole trend is so overused right now. But I was bored one night and watch an episode and laughed my ass off. It's kind of an anti-Negima, where everyone has powers EXCEPT the main character.
-Negima ~Ala Alba~ Preeeeetty. The fight with Chao pretty much sets the tone for this short, sweet little series. A volume of the manga condensed into an OAV. Awesome.
-To Aru Kagaku no Railgun- Follow-on/sidestory to Index. That should be explaination enough

Several other things, but only gotten an episode or two in, and that doesn't count to me as 'watching' just yet.

I won't make a 'have watched' list because it would take up way too much room. Seriously.

Won't watch:
-Anything related to Tenchi other than the Original OVA's and the recent OVA's that continued the story. The TV does not exist. The movies are in a hazy world of maybe.
-Anything with the concept of a Shinigami in it. Seriously, I tried Bleach. Just...no.
-Anything dubbed for Cartoon Network. Okay, I speak some Japanese, so I like subtitles, so I'm biased. The Naruto dub is a crime against anime, though. Some things just DON'T translate well. The only good Cartoon Network dub, ever, was Big O. And don't even get me started about Outlaw Star.

I don't care if I don't support your OTP. Actual critiques are appreciated. Flames are doused with water and then thrown out.

Likes:
-Well thought out, well constructed writing.
-Over-the-top, in your face, but also well executed writing.
-Abusing the antagonist for fun and profit.

Extra-special dislike:
Blatant over-useage of japanese. Alright, you know some japanese. So do I. Does everyone who reads your story, though? Are you using it because it either:
--enhances the story (jutsu, special attacks, spells, techniques)
--is difficult to translate (honorifics and source-material puns and nicknames, like oneeniisama big brother-sister from Maze another gender shifting individual)
--marks a shift or style in speaking (like Kenshin going from sessha to ore, or certain female characters using cutesy endings)
--specifically NEEDS to be in a different language? Say, because the main characters DON'T speak japanese?
All these are acceptable. If you are just throwing in japanese words because you can...my personal favorite is ningen. Human, person, people...there is NO reason whatsoever to use it if you're writing a story in english. Vegita using 'onna!' instead of 'woman!' is another. If your vocabulary is so weak that you need to rely on japanese for variety (which results in LESS variety, since you don't know any other japanese words that mean the same thing), then work on expanding your english before you hurt our brains again.

Dislikes:
-People who write "I suck at writing summaries" as their summary. Why should we think that you do any better writing?
-Yaoi/slash fics. Okay, I can accept a gay couple, maybe even several, in a well written story. Most slash and yaoi tends to go WAY beyond that, with everyone and their brother being flamingly gay. Along with that, concepts such as m-preg. Really, if guys had to deal with pregnancy, the human race wouldn't have survived this long. If a guy has all the equipment to carry a child, then s/he's a fully functioning hermaphrodite, not a guy. If you want to make a character that way, that's fine. Not my taste, but fine.
-Bleach. I just don't get it. I've tried to watch the series, I really have, but it seems to me that the 'good guys' are more corrupt that the bad guys. At least evil is honest about it.
-X-overs with Bleach, for much the same reason. Especially the ubiquitous Naruto/Bleach crossover, which is generally an excuse for a poorly written harem fic.
-People who cannot distiguish between characters in a book and actors who play them in a movie. "I like Harry/Hermione because they look good together". No, you like how Emma and Dan look together, which is different. That actually seems to be a major justification for slash fics, too.
-Poorly written anything. Misspelled names, particularly of people and places, and techniques. Get a proofreader if your spelling sucks, or use spellcheck. Dear god, use spellcheck. I don't know of anyone who writes in Notepad or Wordpad anymore, so that's not an excuse. If you don't know any japanese, don't try and use it.
-Making up names in japanese generally irritates me, as lots of writers use female naming conventions for male names, and vice versa. Oh, and Ukyou in Ranma 1/2? That's a BOY'S name. Takahashi is not subtle.
-l33t speak, text-speak, or anything of the sort used in conversation between two characters. If the characters are texting over phones, that's one thing. Unless you're Largo from Megatokyo, though, you don't speak l33t.
-Half a page of authors notes at the beginning of the story to tell readers about all the changes made to the universe the author is writing in. First off, write them into the story, it makes for more interesting development that way. Second, have them make sense, not just some arbitrary change to suit your whims. That's often a justification used in Yaoi/slash fics.
-Any story title with the words "my way" or a variation thereof in the title. Fine, the story is your way. Who are you, though?
-Horribly OOC writing. If it's really OOC, put an AU flag on the story. If it's just your delusion that that's how the characters act, I feel sorry for you.
-Ship wars. Read the above statement. I don't care about pairings if you can write it and make it believable. The more fanatic people are about their pairing, the worse the writing (and bashing of other characters) tends to be. Flaming people because you don't like their pairing is both immature and a waste of time. I read a lot of different pairings simply because I get tired of same-old, same-old.
-Crappy harem fics. There are a lot of them. Unless you go totally over the top for entertainment purposes (see "Chunin Exam Day" by Perfect Lionheart for an example of this), there will be conflict and jealousy in a harem. Everything does not turn into sweetness and light. And they'll all be PMSing at the same time, remember that.
-Anyone who says "you can't do that" to a story. If it's believeable, and well written, they can. If your objection is that it doesn't match your tastes, then don't read it, and certainly don't go back week after week with every new update.
-Canon Nazis. If someone puts the AU flag up, or says 'starts at such and such a point before diverging', let them be. It's fanfic. If I wanted to be a canon nazi, I wouldn't be reading fanfic, now would I?
-God-mode perfect heroes and Mary Sues. Find and use the Mary Sue test online. It may save your fic, and my eyes.
-Glaring cultural inconsistencies. Japanese schools start their year in the spring, not in the fall. Most people in Japan don't drive. There aren't big, sprawling malls in Japan (or Europe, for the most part, from what I understand), they are generally vertically oriented, or more on the lines of an enclosed market street. In general, leave your cultural baggage behind and do some research before assuming things are the same.
