About Me:

I tend to be harsh, maybe a bit too much most of the time but frankly speaking I feel I have to be, so many mediocre fics on this site get tons of praise for frankly just appealing to the lowest common denominator.

"The In Name Only Crisis"

I'm so sick and tired of reading Naruto fics written by people who clearly don't the character and just replace him with a thinly veiled OC who has the same name, seriously the more I see it just becomes clear to me that they use Naruto's name because that would get more views instead if they were upfront about it being an OC. More over if you're going to use Naruto as a character then actually write him like he's Naruto, now I know people always try to use the "it's an AU" excuse but that doesn't cut it. I can accept that a character would act and be different if grown up in a different environment with different people but the simple fact remains that if they don't have any of the same qualities and character traits and at the end of the day the name is the one thing that's keeping them from being completely unrecognizable then you're doing something wrong.

I'm just done with people who don't get the character Naruto is, frankly too many of these people constantly claim to like him yet hate everything the character is about, I'm just gonna lay it out like this if you're someone thinks that Naruto's character can summed up as "Clones, Sasuke, Rasengan Dattebayo!" or act as if he's an idiot who never matured flat out ignoring or severely downplaying his character development you really shouldn't be writing Naruto fanfiction. The most infuriating part usage fact these people seem pissed he's not a cold, emotion less killer who does everything perfectly which is dumb for many reasons the main being that's a completely uninteresting character archetype that's been done to death.
