He doesn't even know her, not really, and somehow she's ended up with his wand. He thinks maybe next time he'll listen when Sirius tells him his cousin is a real piece of work.

Sirius knows there's something different the day his best friend asks him if he looks alright. He hasn't asked him things like that since they were fourteen and waiting outside the girl's bathroom to gawk at Mallory Davis. And he doesn't see what the big deal is because it's just Tonks.

"She was wearing a thin, dark blue dressing gown, and fluffy orange slippers. Her hair was bright pink, falling halfway down her back in curls. She looked a little ridiculous. She looked like home." Remus returns, for the last time. One-shot.

"Mercy kill." "Potato potahto. Queen to e-5, checkmate."

Remus returns to Tonks, and Remus and Andromeda have a conversation.

Tonks hadn't even realized that it was a full moon that night, not until the morning when Sirius stumbled down stairs having spent the night with his werewolf best friend. It probably wouldn't have had that much affect on her life, except she volunteered to help patch Remus up and ended up leaning more about the man than she bargained for.

Remus and a pregnant Tonks are enjoying some fresh air when a very passionate Muggle woman approaches them telling them about the most pressing threat that faces humanity: the bird flu.

"It's all we've got, she thinks sadly, it's all I have. She wonders why she was so desperate, why she craved the love of a man who desired a man. Stars burn in her eyes and shame spills on her cheeks but she kisses Remus, and loves him feverishly."
