Sofia had helped create STEM. At first because she believed the machine would revolutionize science, then because she saw in it a chance to cure her patients. Finally, it was because she saw herself without choice. Now she'll have the chance to experience STEM first-hand as she fights to save Leslie and hopefully herself from the man she once loved.
