(Slow Burn Detective AU!) Marinette is used to working alone on the streets of Paris as she strives to take down the Hawkmoth gang. When the thief Chat Noir comes crashing into her life things are bound to get magical, especially when co-detective Adrien returns to Paris and seems to want to be her new partner. Will their fated partnership end in a capture or a kiss?

After an Akuma reveals the true identity of Chat Noir to Paris, Adrien now must deal with the ramifications. What will his friends think? What will his Lady think? What will his father do?

Frustrated by his father's unwavering control on his life, Adrien is in a foul mood when Marinette finally gets the courage to ask him out. He turns her down with a harshness that he immediately regrets and she begins giving him the cold shoulder. Wanting to make things right, he resorts to his only option, mending her heart as Chat Noir.

Adrien falls off the grid after the fall of his father's company leaving his friends worried and hurt. Chat Noir disappears as well and Ladybug is afraid that he's dead while all of Paris thinks he naturally stepped down after the battle with Hawkmoth. When Adrien suddenly returns, changed and different, will Marinette be able to bring back the old him? Or is he gone forever?

After learning of his mother's demise, Adrien takes something precious from his father, his Miraculous. Determined to bring his mother back, Adrien takes his father's place as Hawkmoth, though despite his previous disposition, Gabriel tries to stop his son from becoming too corrupt. Takes place after Style Queen but becomes an AU. Spoilers for Season 2.
