Merlin is the Servant to Arthur Pendragon, who will one day help Arthur become king and unite the land with magic once more; Merlin calls Arthur a bully, as well as a Clotpole. Merlin first called him a Royal ass in the dragon’s call, he was beaten by Arthur and one he would have won but lost due to Gaius walking that way to see what was happening. Merlin comes from Ealdor a small village where he and his mother lived. She’s called Hunith. He was sent by his mother because his best friend will found out, to go to Camelot. He was sent to Gaius where he stayed and learned how to control his magic.
At first Merlin and Arthur didn’t like each other, but after becoming his manservant Merlin soon began to understand him for who he is, they both began to trust each other and became friends even if the king doesn’t know, Merlin protected Arthur’s life in the poison cup episode by drinking the cup and being poisoned. Arthur soon became protective of Merlin extremely to a point. This was proven when Arthur undertakes a dangerous life taking mission to save Merlin’s life to find the antidote for the poison. Merlin is also trusted to cover up for Arthur and ending up in the stocks for the cover up story. What is not yet unveiled is that will Arthur take over as a decent king or a different type of king.

Merlin Grew up in Ealdor without his father who was run out by Uther, Uther wanted all dragon lords destroyed and balinor soon escaped, Merlin soon found out when he freed the dragon that his father was a dragon lord but as soon as he found him he soon lost him again in battle on a journey back to Camelot. Arthur does have something he can’t put his finger on with Merlin and believes that Merlin is special in a way but is not quite sure, Merlin has saved Arthur countless times, including Uther’s live too, thanks to Gaius and him for making up stories to save his life from being executed.

Merlin and Arthur went on a journey after losing a battle to a girl he saw his mother and learned the truth about how he was born, Arthur did get angry about it for not telling him the truth and Merlin asked Gaius if it was true and that he would let everyone know the truth someday.

Merlin has proven he can protect Arthur in times of need just as Arthur has shown that he cares for all his people as is seen with his friendship with Merlin, Arthur has faced death, and has defied his father many times to help Merlin as shown when he defied his father to help defend Merlin’s village.

Will being Merlin’s best friend soon discovered that Arthur is a good man that will help even if it did cause his death.

Merlin is one of the few who can tell Arthur what to do or When he’s being an idiot or even a prat without fear of punishment. They show their friendship through banter and insults, they often love playing tricks on each other. But behind it all they are the closest friends will get implying with the several events that has shown the mental bond, both of them always being aware when the other is in trouble or in danger. Or even when they are unconscious.
