Klaus is guardian to his sick little brother Henrik. Just as their lives are beginning to settle down, Henrik's long time nurse is replaced by none other than Caroline Forbes. Klaus is annoyed, positive the perky blonde won't be a good fit for them. He quickly learns though that there is more to her then meets the eye, and she may just provide them with what they need most.

Caroline had a great life. She was living in Chicago, had an okay job, the best friends in the world, and an amazing daughter. Being a single Mom wasn't the easiest job, but she managed. It all changed when Caroline went to England for a wedding, and she came face to face with someone she thought she would never see again. The reason she doesn't date men with accents.

AU/AH: Klaus is an art grad student at Hunter College whose student visa is about to expire. Caroline is a journalism grad student and Today Show intern who's dream apartment only accepts married couples.
