The night is coming in the wood, Hermione and Severus are lost. Creatures are getting to appear, and the moon is high in the sky. If nobody comes, both of them will attack Severus and Hermione. The girl is scared and doesn't know what she could do to be safe, waiting for help. Severus disappears in the darkness, and the young girl thinks that she should be more worried about Severus than the others creatures... She tries to etablish a listing of all the things that could attack her... Werewolfs, wizards ,gobelins, thief, centaurs... and then, she decides to breathe and remember spell which can be used against monsters. She tries to find a way to call Harry, or Hagrid, before Spider's coming but the fear is too strong. She finally find a tree which can be used as an hidden place for the night. She waits, crying, asking herself about Severus's behaviour, and the way he took in the wood. Maybe he left her, and found the right way to go back to hogwarts, with the idea to let her die in the night, hurt, or eaten...

Time goes slowly, the cold night begins to make Hermione sleeping, seeing shadows around her. Suddenly eight giant Aragorn's kids appear. Spiders, black and dangerous, come next to Hermione's tree, walking around it, smelling the human's flavour. Hermione tries to contain her fear. But she doesn't find any escape and begins to panic. Are this creatures a gift sent by Severus...Does he finally succeed to eliminate Harry's team? ...Hermione feels the spider's body next to her. In a few minutes, she'll be eaten and dead. A cold and empty body, lost in the wood, which will be found by Hagrid one week, or month later. Nethertheless, she tries to keep a positive picture of the moment. Nobody cares about her death. Noone except her is going to suffer. Hermione see the hidden eyes from the spider. she's in front of her, mouth opened, ready to eat her and take her soul. She closes her eyes, waiting for theterrible moment which is the death...

And nothing happens. Between her closed eyes, Hermione sees a slim light, which crosses the wood. and hits the monster in front of her. The spider falls, dead, and Hermione can finally see the wizard who saved her. Severus is up away from her, his magic stick in the right hand. She just want to run and thank him. But the wind and the fear block her. She was thinking about the fact he could kill her during all this time, but he saved her life. And now, she is ashamed. Severus looks at her one more time, and dispparears in the night, letting behind him, a weak light which keep the creatures away from the girl. A centaur suddenly appears. he takes hermione in his arms, where she falls, tired and scared, and cross the wood, to brink her back to howgharts, leaving Severus, since a long time away.
