![]() Author has written 1 story for Inception. A few things about me and my writing: - I'm a university student, born in Western Finland pretty much twenty years ago. My main subject is English Philology, but I also do miscellaneous amounts of French, Women's Studies, History of Literature and History of Music. - My hobbies include classical ballet, movies, reading and writing, music, obsessing over actors and their performances, swimming, walking and eating. I'm a sworn hermit, living alone and refusing to date guys, but I like to think my life is pretty exciting anyway. - Some long-lasting favorites of mine: Movies: Breakfast on Pluto, The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, Joyeux Noël, Inception, Edward Scissorhands, Atonement, The Edge of Love, Good-bye Lenin!, Big Fish, Stage Beauty, Jeux d'enfants, (500) Days of Summer, 10 Things I Hate About You, Brokeback Mountain, The Prestige, Ladies in Lavender, Penelope, Dear Frankie, Evening, Candy, Billy Elliott Actors: Heath Ledger (for ever), James McAvoy (always), Marion Cotillard (always), Cillian Murphy (whatever he's in), Daniel Brühl (especially in Good-bye Lenin!), Guillaume Canet (especially in Joyeux Noël), Meryl Streep (solid), Keira Knightley (surprisingly often), Billy Crudup (kind of on/off with him but ALWAYS after watching Stage Beauty), Kate Winslet (lately), Lily Cole (I really liked her in Dr. Parnassus) Books: The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde, Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontë, Great Expectations by Charles Dickens, The Book Thief by Markus Zusak, The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien (only in Finnish, though, because the translation is gorgeous), Quo Vadis by Henryk Sienkiewicz, L'étranger by Albert Camus, all the Harry Potters by J.K. Rowling (I kind of grew up with Harry) Plays: Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead by Tom Stoppard, Hamlet by William Shakespeare, The Worker's Wife by Minna Canth (an awesome Finnish 19th Century playwright!), Lapin Lapin by Coline Serreau, The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde, Ubu Roi by Alfred Jarry (because it's just so stupid it's incredibly funny) - My history of story-telling must begin at the time I learned to talk. I discovered the immense pleasure of writing when I was seven and it has been going on ever since. It's just something I have to do; I have no choice. I usually write in Finnish - it's a very expressive language, not in the least because it's so difficult our public media can't seem to use it correctly - but I have a growing fondness for English as well. I love the way English words form sentences and I want to keep on learning more and more. My fanfics are part practice, part enthusiasm, part pure enjoyment. Usually I'm writing them when I should be doing something useful. I'm not entirely comfortable toying with other authors' inventions but I definitely see that as a plus, because then I have to think very carefully what I'm going to do with the characters and that means learning new things in the process. On the other hand I love stepping into a story and pouring some of my own soul into it, it's very fascinating. |
