Welcome to my ff.net homepage! My Pen Name is Almie, as you can see, which means "grace" in Tolkien's Elvish (a translation of my own name, Ann, from As you can probably guess if you've ever read/watched anything to do with Tolkien, my fanfiction passion is Lord Of The Rings and The Silmarillion. I hope to be uploading many of my stories here soon and writing more, as much as university work allows. I hope you enjoy my fanfiction!

~ LotR characters: Frodo and Faramir, followed (very) closely by Sam.

~ LotR chapter: 'A Conspiracy Unmasked' - it's so sweet!

~ Silmarillion characters: Tuor and Voronwe - I just love those two! Oh and Beleg: How could anyone not love Cúthalion? *sob*

~ non LotR: Jean Auel's Earth's Children series, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Anne McCaffrey's books, Harry Potter etc etc etc...

~ fanfiction genre: this is worrying, but 'angst'. I love Frodo h/c fics, especially when non-slashy Sam is involved. I also like fast-paced action/adventure. I want to write a Frodo h/c, but so far haven't really succeeded. 'Athrad Bruinen Am Imladris' (see below) will no doubt be that, but it's not quite there yet...

Old updates? They used to be here, but from now on all but the last two will be displayed on my external website (see link above). 9thOct2003: *How* has it been nearly a year since I've updated here, and not far off since I've written things?!? Well, you can blame it on real life if you would like. it jumped up and dragged me back into its realm. Hopefully, I'll get inspiration to continue writing fic at some point soon... I am now the president of my university's Tolkien Society, so this may well be an encouragement... Watch this space!

20thNov2002: I'm afraid to say there's no update to 'Athrad Bruinen Am Imladris' just yet, due to university work, and a multitude of visitors! It will be there *very* soon! My many thanks to shirebound! When I found out you had reviewed, it wouldn't be much of an understatement to say that I bounced around my room! (Did I just admit that out loud?) I am very much enjoying your stories, especially 'Reunion In Minas Tirith' and 'Avalance' and looking forward to the next chapters!! Thank you very much for your complements! :) Also uploaded a taster of a fic I'm currently working on, but unfortunately it has no name so far! All suggestions (when some chapters are up if that's easier obv.) will be thankfully received!

24thDec2002: Well, it's the Christmas season, and I am finally on holiday - for a MONTH! (I love university!) Hopefully this means I'll be able to write a lot more and beat my writer's block. Well, only time will tell. I have added more to the first chapter of 'Athrad Bruinen Am Imladris' - but I ought to point out this THIS IS NOT THE FINAL VERSION OF CHAPTER ONE. There's still a lot more to come, but I thought I would upload this part for now, while the rest is being written. In the future a chapter will not be uploaded until it is completely finished, but right now I am getting used to ff.net's way of formatting. My apologies to anyone confused, and I hope you still come back to read this once it is finished. 'Gentle Heart Lost' just crept up on me the other day! I love writing drabbles - getting everything you want to say into just 100 words is actually quite challenging - and I had to write something about Faramir! I won't continue any further in case I spoil anyone...

COMING SOON (as of 12thJan2003):

~ 'Heirs To A Ruined Kingdom': Silmarillion-fic. A chaptered fic about Eluréd and Elurín, sons of Dior, the son of Beren and Lúthien. I noticed today that someone has already posted a fic about them, but I've been working on it too long to give up. Hopefully our stories won't be too similar: I haven't read this person's fic in case any ideas spill over, and won't read it until I have finished HTARK. Chapter 1, 'Rage and Ruin' should be up soon.

~ 'Hammer And The Anvil': Same general idea as 'Contemplation', and movie-canon, but a little longer. It aims to answer the question I keep being asked by my non-book-reading friends - "That spear blatantly went into Frodo - how come it didn't affect him at all?" and to which "He was wearing the Mithril coat!" isn't a good enough answer. It blends events in the book, which I liked, in with the film. It also aims to give reasons behind a couple of other points in the movie.

IN THE BEGINNING STAGES:

~ 'A Work Of Mordor': Book-canon. A series. About the lives of the Hobbits left behind in the Shire when Lotho takes over and when 'Sharkey' joins the fray.

~ 'Brandy Hall': Trying desparately to be a cute little pre-quest fic about Frodo and Merry.

~ 'Brothers': Book-canon, kinda. Explaining my view of Frodo and Sam's relationship.

~ 'Chamber Of Records': Movie-canon. The start of Gimli and Legolas's understanding of each other.

~ 'Fingon And Maedhros': Silmarillion. Fingon's rescue of Maedhros from Thangorodrim from the former's POV. Done before, I know, but never mind.

~ 'Something A Little Stronger': Book-canon. Set after RotK, Frodo goes on another, slightly less dangerous, slightly more intoxicating, quest. Parts of it are attempting to be a humour.

ONLY IDEAS SO FAR:

~ A (large) series of drabbles detailing the feelings of members of the Fellowship at some points of the Quest.

~ Seeing as I have a lot of little Frodo POV musings, I think I'll lump these together into a large fic sometime...
