![]() Author has written 7 stories for Harry Potter, Avatar: Last Airbender, and Glee. Inside A Mireekian Rumors of my demise have been greatly exagerrated. January 26, 2012 I'm not dead (!) you'll be pleased to note (?), and perhaps my only saving grace is the fact that I left no unfished fics behind to infuriate visitors. I say it's my only saving grace because even this return is to be dictated by the fact that I have made some significant changes to the fic roster (read: deleted fics that made me cringe each time I remembered I was probably not even old enough to have an account here when I published them) and have nothing to make up for the changes. I have been busy! I've moved twice, gone to university long enough for ickle first years to ask if I'm a prof, and even managed to figure out three fallback plans for my future (because, as writers, we need at least three). I've also been focusing on some original fiction, as pertaining to which my petite and adorable little plot decided to spontaneously explode its messy and convoluted sideplots and obnoxiously loud minor characters all over the insides of my 'My Documents' folder. Fanfiction was collateral damage in the resulting concussive wave. But take heart! In between undergraduate theses, term papers, and painstakingly addressing rent cheques, this lady's planning on hopping back on the fanfiction bandwagon and steering it into a red-sun-drenched victory... hopefully before the world ends this December. That's not to say I don't have a few ideas churning around in my head! warning - what follows are not what will appear as their respective summaries, but rundowns on the whole plots themselves (think: book pitch to a publication company). Here there be spoilers. Harry Potter Funeral Guise: In this humourous but ultimately angsty lengthy oneshot, we see intermittent peeks at a conversation between Draco Malfoy and an unknown but very minor Other Character. In order to prove to this Mystery (Unnamed) Man that Draco is most certainly and absolutely not!friendless in a post-war and precluding-epilogue world, Draco decides to fake his own death to witness for himself the boundless love and admiration the Wizarding World has for the last Malfoy heir. Unfortunately for him, Hermione Granger gets wind of the farce and, emboldened by her righteous indignance that someone should possibly disdain the sacred notion of mourning, cancels the fake funeral. Taking pity on a rather pitiable Draco who doesn't understand why no one showed up, she teaches him how to get people to like him for him whilst balancing her tenuous romantic relationship with Ron and her efforts at cleaning up the mess from the Third Wizarding War/V's-Take#2. The beginning humourous, the middle tragic, and the end suspiciously heart-warming, hopefully this will be a fic that few have seen and more can surprise themselves for liking. Not DMHG, and attempts to stay as loyal to the canon characters as possible. May become a multi-chaptered fic, but aiming for a (probably) long oneshot. Power Sap: This fanfic will be a bit longer and, since apparently I have a thirst for firsts these days, will also be my Moste Initiale Attempte at slash. Not nearly as planned out as Funeral Guise, Power Sap will be heavily angsty but with more than a dash of adventure and just a pinch of epic for flavour. This (cold)wartime-at-Hogwarts AU fic (think books 4-6) will be oriented around the concept that Voldemort, in searching for ways to instantly obtain more power, has discovered a spell that will cause the gradual transferrence of power from a victim to the castor, wherein the power is the victim's own life. So, naturally, because the translation was rather obscure, Voldemort gets Lucius to try out the spell first. To prove to Voldemort his utter devotion (in doubt thanks to good ol' Auntie Bella), Lucius targets Draco. So begins Draco's sixth year at Hogwarts, with his life - and his energy - now slowly and painfully being stolen from him. But the story has a twist - it's all from Harry's POV, a Harry who's just witnessed his Godfather's death, heard the Prophesy, and still hates Draco with all his being - who hates Harry back just as much. Princeps Tempus - Apparently I just can't get enough of firsts. My first revisitation! This one's a longshot, but will basically expand upon the events in my oneshot, Princeps Tempus, into a full, multi-chaptered wartime epic. It will be Dramione, as well as a previous PPDG, and will likely have LLHP, BZGW, and SBRW, among others. There will be torture, love, sacrifice, blindness, magical creatures, secret operations, Ambiguous!Snape, intelligent!Ron, Slytherin!Draco, Acts-her-age!Pansy, and Powerful!Harry, complete with adults that aren't nearly as useless as in the earlier books and in fanfiction. There will be absolutely no character bashing of any kind, since JK Rowling is a characterizing genius and every character is beautiful in his or her imperfect way and I'm not about to project my own delusions of grandeur onto her wonderful creations as so many others do. I have original fiction for that; Harry Potter characters I'm just borrowing for the ride... which happens to be long and full of many maturing experiences. Do not read the original Princeps Tempus unless you want to know how it all goes, right at this moment. I may or may not leave the original version posted. Gold/Green/Red: This will be my idle fantasy for a bit. Since Grey was what I consider my greatest literary success (read: experiment) in terms of style, POV, imagery, and characterization, each chapter or installment of Gold/Green/Red will be from the POV of the respective characters, either as character studies or in line with the events of Grey, which were at times ambiguous due to Draco's, er, thought processes. Expect to see: the Trio as I see them, having just won the war and confident in their own capabilities; wild colour imagery; the viewpoint of witnesses of depression and cruelty; and an ending that is hopefully more enlightening than a group-hug and tear-fest atop the Astronomy Tower. Avatar: The Last Airbender I am still in love with this show, this fandom, and this universe. Movie notwithstanding (movie? what movie?), this series is one of the absolute best on television. Expect to see my own take on Book 4: Air (that bandwagon is too tempting to miss!), more canon-agreeable romantic oneshots, and, as my own guilty pleasure, plenty of Zutara, Taang, Tai Lokka, and Irsa. Also, tributes to my most favourite character of all time including all books, shows, animes, games, real life, or what-have-you: General Iroh, Dragon of the West, best motherfucking character ever to be envisioned. Ever. Though Toph takes a close second (at least in this show). Inuyasha: I feel I owe this fandom an apology. I was much too young when I started writing fanfics using characters borrowed from this show and anime. Violence aside, I really couldn't fully comprehend all the complexities of characters and plot when I was writing silly hurt-comfort romances with little depth and even less emotion. Perhaps I'll revisit this fandom at some point in the future. I am still very much in love with many fics produced by IY authors over the years, so if you're looking for good IY fics, best place to look would be my 'fav. authors' section. In other worlds: Though I have yet to dapple in writing for the fandoms of any others save for those above, you may be able to look forward to some works in Supernatural, Dark Angel, Game of Thrones, Reboot, Fullmetal Alchemist, Naruto, Gundam Seed, Jak and Daxter, Gone, Lord of the Rings, Stargate Atlantis, How To Train Your Dragon, Firefly, and any combination herein. Thanks for the visit! You have warmed the cockles of my heart. And remember, never stop writing, for one day your words may change lives and shape the world.
