Author has written 1 story for Marching Band.

I have spent most of my twenty years making up stories, due to my vivacious reading. At any moment you may look at me and you may assume I'm writing a story of what's going on in real time. I think in story prose, forever describing and explaining, adding tags to dialouge, sometimes out loud. I never really wrote any of my thoughts down until seventh grade, when my family got our first computer, a Hewlett Packard. I was so excited with owning this magical technology I spent every available minute on it, even if doing nothing but surfing the menus. When my parents threatened to limit my computer time, I developed a strategy to stay on: writing. After all, who wants to squash their child's creativity?

Alas, they should have, for I've not stopped since. I started with a soapy love song, which launched my songwriting livelihood. Along with songs, I began to write my first story, The Camping Catastrophe, a half autobiography half fiction piece of work that captured the wonder of friends and was eagerly passed from one school desk to the next, even getting autographed by a real author. At the same time, for even longer computer sessions, I created a short children's series, Oggey, about a little snake-like alien from the planet Saturn who finds himself on Earth.

These two attempts, considered by friends to be priceless, were considered by me to be lame. I stopped writing stories and focused on songs, while school demanded more and more of my creative writing style each year. I wrote many papers and short stories for English classes through the years, one such being Ashli Kent, a dramatic short story of a girl dying due to denial of an illness. While exceedingly dramatic, it was the first time a story of mine would be read by an adult...one with a degree in literature, that is.

Since then I've written nothing but stories. I began writing a story based on a crazy dream I had one night, of a girl who allows herself to be held hostage simply because her life is so utterly boring she wants something exciting to happen. It is currently untitled. In high school my two best friends, also vivacious readers and dedicated story writers, joined forces with me to create the Ultimate Project, a novel entitled Politically Challenged, a story inspired by the TV show The West Wing of the problems and happenings of the first female President of the United States under the age of 35. PC involves serious revamping of the US constitution and a tremendous lack of knowledge of politics, the government, and foriegn relations. Hence, the title.

While PC consumes most of my time, and college classes just manage to get my attention, I do find time to devote to my other passions, playing trumpet, collecting all things Coca-Cola, re-reading my favorite books (including Sherlock Holmes and White Fang), writing a memoir, imagining and creating wacky art projects (including a rock collage made of fish tank pebbles), and conspiring with my friends.
