Mother’s Daughter — a Supernatural story

Rosario Martinez

•Background:

Rosario Lee Martinez (b. December 21, 1988) is the daughter of Gabriel and Amaia Martinez. She is the first Nephilim to be sired by an Archangel. She was taken in by Lucia Martinez, her maternal aunt, who would teach her how to master her powers. Growing up, Rosario held a deep curiosity regarding herself and the world around her.

Rosario would leave Lucia to try and find answers regarding her heritage and to better understand the world. She would find little to no information regarding her heritage but she was broadening her view of humanity and how everything worked.

In the months that followed, Rosario would travel back to Lucia. They would be ambushed by angels not long after.

•Personality:

While still in her mother’s womb, Rosario was aware of her surroundings.

Since her father is Gabriel, Amaia assumed that Rosario would be a troublemaker, a candy-loving trickster. In reality, she cares deeply for her family and holds humanity in high regard, similar to Gabriel. She also hates fighting, but understands the importance of protecting others and never forgetting what really matters.

Rosario possesses memories from when she was in the womb, though she doesn’t understand what they mean. She does enjoy simple pleasures.

Because of her heritage, Rosario has a sympathetic view toward those like her (mistaken to be monsters/abominations). She has an understanding regarding right and wrong and knows her actions have consequences.

•Physical Appearance:

Upon birth, Rosario chose to remain an infant and age the natural way. She is dark-skinned with curly black hair and hazel eyes. Her eyes often glow a silvery-blue when she uses her powers.

Rosario also has a large pair of angelic wings, which are as big as an Archangel’s.

•Powers and Abilities:

Rosario is a Nephilim, a hybrid creature conceived by an angel and a human. She has a mixture of a human soul and angelic grace as a source of power, inherited from both her parents.

Astral Projection: Rosario can perceive the true form of angels, such as perceiving their halos.

Super Strength: Her angelic ancestry endows her with enhanced strength sufficient to overpower and toss around even common angels. The only beings to surpass Rosario’s strength is God, the Darkness, Death, and the Archangels.

Super Senses: Rosario can clearly hear conversations, regardless of distance.

Healing: Rosario can heal others through touch.

Resurrection: As long as there’s a body, Rosario can resurrect recently deceased humans and monsters. She can’t, however, bring back dead angels, despite her power.

Reality Warping: Rosario can open portals to other dimensions, though it requires her full concentration. She can make objects or living beings appear out of thin air, or by reshaping objects into something else entirely. She can create unreal dimensions and large time loops.

1.) Conjuration: She can create anything out of thin air, whether it be people, objects, creatures, or beings.

2.) Self-Duplication: Rosario can create duplicates of herself to deceive others.

3.) Power Granting: Rosario can grant the people/creatures/beings she created superhuman abilities.

Rapid Aging: While Rosario never did it herself, she can age rapidly if need be.

Telekinesis: Rosario can generate immense waves of telekinetic force when threatened. After practicing it, she can create a small telekinetic shockwave to knock her opponents to the ground.

Teleportation: Rosario is able to teleport away. The sounds of wings can be heard when she does so.

Telepathy: Rosario is able to read the thoughts and memories of humans and monsters.

1.) Empathy: Rosario is also able to read the emotions of humans and monsters.

2.) Sedation: Like an angel, she can put people to sleep with just a touch.

Pseudo-Immortality: As long as Rosario’s grace isn’t extracted, she could live forever.

1.) Immunity: Despite having an angelic heritage, Rosario is immune to angel banishing sigils. She is also immune to angel warding.

2.) Invulnerability: Rosario can take an angel blade and survive unharmed. Ordinary weapons also have no affect.

3.) Regeneration: Rosario can heal her wounds in seconds.

Chronokinesis: Rosario can travel forwards and backwards in time. She can also put others in time loops.

Bilingualism: Rosario is fluent in English and Spanish.

Master Marksman: Rosario is a very accurate marksman skilled in sharpshooting. She had been trained from a young age in the art of sharpshooting.

Master Martial Artist: Rosario is a profound fighter, often incorporating street fighting, acrobatics, and martial arts into her style. She is very well adept in the martial arts bojutsu (the art of using a bo-staff), taekwondo, and krav maga.

Master Stick Fighter: Rosario’s extreme skills in bojutsu makes her dangerously skilled in the use of her bo-staff.

•Weaknesses:

Archangel Blade: Due to her father being an Archangel, Rosario can be killed by an Archangel blade.

God: The last time Nephilim were walking the Earth, God had to intervene in order to remove them. With the snap of his fingers, God could smite Rosario.

Grace Extraction: Removing a Nephilim’s grace could possibly turn them effectively fully human and render them powerless. Extracting a Nephilim’s grace also renders their bodies unstable, as their human half and angelic half will start to attack their cells, which will ultimately kill them unless their grace is restored.

Angel Radio: Hearing “angel radio” causes Rosario debilitating pain.

Unexpected Mechanical Trauma: While Rosario has the superhuman endurance to shrug off most attacks, she can be knocked unconscious or temporarily stunned by physical forces when she is caught off guard.

Very Heavy Angel Warding: Rosario’s powers can be severely weakened by powerful warding.

•Additional Information:

Rosario’s mother had African-American and Colombian ancestry.

She has a very close relationship with her aunt, Lucia. The two share everything and have a very strong bond.

While Rosario is aware she’s different, she doesn’t really understand why. The memories she has from the womb are weird and confusing for her and she has such little knowledge of her biological parents — it’s a jumbled mess for her.

Lucia is a hunter, but semi-retired in order to raise Rosario. Everything about raising a Nephilim was done with trial and error, that included the power aspect of it.

Rosario has the same shaped eyes as Gabriel and the same kind of smile as him, every other physical trait she inherited from her mother.

Rosario has some knowledge on monsters and all that. Lucia wanted to keep her hunting life separate from her family life, which is a little difficult. They were on the move a lot, one because of cases Lucia found and two to protect Rosario from any threats.

Lucia required Rosario know basic self-defense in case she was in a sticky situation.
