Why this had happened, Anakin did not know. There was nothing worse than having an open hole where someone used to be; nothing worse than not knowing what to do with yourself after someone was gone. It was just meant to be a recon mission. That's what they had been told anyway. Unfortunately, Ezra had no idea what would come of it.

After a battle gone wrong, Hera doesn't make it out alive. Everyone is effected, but none so more than Kanan. He falls back to the only way he knows how to numb the pain: drowning his sorrows drinking. (TW character death, drinking and some mild cursing)

As the group gets Kanan back and hopes to continue on with their usual, fight-the-empire life, a new obstacle gets in their way as Kanan begins to experience the after effects of what the Empire did to him during his capture. While he is out of commission, the crew must continue to fight as they usually do and also help him on his road to recovery. Warnings inside on Chapter 1!
