Hey everyone! I never know what to write for these things... I mean, how much to I tell about myself? Do I go for humor and keep it light or bear my soul and get all deep? It's a delicate balance and I never feel like I get it quite right - especially after reading other people's profiles - LOL.

What can I tell you about me? First thing is I love to laugh. In fact I find humor in things that I'm pretty sure aren't meant to be funny... it's a coping mechanism. I get joy from making other people laugh. I mean, I'm no Lenny Bruce, but the people I know think I'm pretty funny so that works for me. I'm very quiet when I fist meet people. Not because I'm shy, but because I prefer to listen and observe and get a feel for folks before I start revealing my crazy. My friends often refer to me as a closet crazy... which is true enough I guess, but who isn't, right?

I recently discovered that I'm an introvert - which only means that although I love people, social interaction can sometimes drain me and then I need to get alone to recharge. This revelation explains so much. Would you believe that before I figured it out I spent YEARS (I'm 48) forcing myself to act extroverted? You wanna talk about exhausting!

What else? Oh! I'm a lover of words. I'm that girl that will see a word and start looking up meanings and origins so I can really get inside of it... So yes, I am indeed a 'word nerd.' I guess then it's only natural that I would also be an avid reader and a writer. Before you write me of as being a total bookwork though, I have another addiction - television and movies. I'm part of the TV generation; you know back when television was fun and creative - before "reality" TV came along (I can see my soapbox out the corner of my eye, but I will not get on it...). I've often wished I could somehow become part the entertainment industry and create stories that would bring some of that old school flavor back. My dream job would be getting to work with Shonda Rhimes or Warren Leight... so wait, what was I saying again? Oh yeah, finding this site has been a dream come true of sorts cause I get to put the stories that I'd like to see out there and exercise a writing muscle that I haven't used a lot; ok.. that haven't used at all!

I discovered fanfiction about a year ago (2014) and immediately got hooked. There are some fantastic, imaginative writers on here! I have read a few different stories on here, but I admit that initially I only joined so I could follow stories based on my absolute favorite shows - Law & Order SVU, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Cold Case and now Code Black. To say I am a fan is an understatement.

Although I'm a writer "in real life," originally I wasn't planning to favorite, comment or review anything. I didn't even bother to write a bio at first because my plan was to just hang back and read. For a while that was good enough, but it didn't last. I guess it was inevitable that at some point I'd catch fanfiction fever I have idea and scenes running through my mind all the time - now it's just a matter of getting it on paper... Fanfiction reminds me of my favorite Toni Morrison quote "If there's a book you really want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it." I feel like fanfiction does that for the writer and the reader.
