I am an avid reader of Harry Potter fanfiction. I think this is a great medium and have been amazed by some of the skill in writing shown by many of my favorite authors. I know that many do not agree but I think as far as a mate goes Harry needs someone who is older and more mature than him, that can take care of herself and can help him to get the training that he needs. Why would he not have been trained?

Ships I Like:

Harry/Tonks - Go HONKS! I have three favorites in this category: Harry Potter And The Summer Of Change by lorddwar, A Summer Of Decisions by heutsmaityp, and Primal Magic by Sutenhotep (though I wish the last to would update more frequently. I also have to plug Honks by Volans it is a great story too.

Harry/Bella - This is a great ship and some of the authors are very creative in how they bring Bella and Harry around. The only problem is many times authors want to rush this pairing.

Harry/Daphne - This is probably my new favorite. Many of the authors have fleshed her out and made this a very strong pairing.

Harry/Harem or Harry/Many - A few authors have started this out with interesting stories but they lose track of their story line and drift away.

Hermione to me will always be Harry's best friend and even though I read stories where she turns on Harry I believe that her character would always be there to help him in anyway possible. I also can't see her with Ron after they finish school. I think of Harry and Ron as always being her best friends. Harry will grow up and mature (with Voldemort on his tail he hasn't a choice) quickly but Ron will take a long time and I don't see Hermione's character sticking around.

Ginny, I know is canon but to me she is Harry's little sister. Strong, feisty, brave and determined she is a powerful witch and a great ally but I don't see her as a girlfriend.

I like stories that betray Harry as independent and strong. Since he was almost put in Slytherin stories that show him as cunning, intelligent, quick to learn and determined are my favorites. Especially if they make him more of a gray wizard. Harry would never go over to Voldemort (he's lost to much because of this dark lord) so I can see him as being more dark but never evil. He would have to learn Dark Arts, not just DADA, too. Harry believing that so called light and dark magic is just magic and it is the intent of the caster that makes it evil is one of my favorite character traits for him. Love may help save him but it will be skill, cunning, training, intelligence, thinking on his feet, power and luck that will help him to live in the end.
