I am a non-traditional college student (which means I'm much older than everyone else in class - including some of the teachers). I'm also an aspiring sci-fi writer and a bit of a nerd. I love sci-fi movies (both cheesy and good), reading (probably too much) and playing video games. I also have a wonderful, loving and supportive boyfriend.

I'm still learning the ins and outs of this site, and I've decided to post a list of frequently used terms. (You hear that, Webmaster? Please think about making an official one.) If you'd like me to add to this list, please PM me.

A/N - Author's Note. Usually some additional information the author feels he or she needs to explain to the readers.

AU - Alternate Universe. Taking the original characters or story line and throwing in a "what if" scenario. Like "what if the bullets had missed JFK?"

Disclaimer - VERY important! Always have one of these at the beginning of your story that says something along the lines of "I do not own the rights to insert name of movie/TV show/book here." In theory, this is to keep you from getting sued. You can also use it to name your OCs and make sure everyone knows not to steal them. (I find this a little strange, since we're all thieves, but whatever.)

Name/Name- See Slash.

OC - Original Character. Someone who is made up by you instead of a character from the show/movie/book you are writing about.

POV - Point of View. Kind of a no-brainer.

R&R - Read and Review. Something everyone wishes everyone else did as a courtesy. Including me. ;o)

Slash - A relationship or romance between two characters. Alternate form of Name/Name or NameXName.

Yaoi - A gay relationship. (In Anime fan fiction.)

Yuri - A lesbian relationship. (In Anime fan fiction.)
