![]() Author has written 4 stories for Frozen, Legend of Korra, RWBY, and Final Fantasy XIII. There once was a man with a cane, A finely dressed man, but a man all the same; To some he appeared whimsy, playful and kind, Cheerful and even sometimes impishly of mind; Yet all is not like those idle childhood dreams, For a madness lurks and darkens the gentleman it seems; For The Gentleman with a Cane, Life is too short to be always the same; So one moment he may appear happy and kind, But beware, Good Reader, for he is utterly without his mind; For insanity and lunacy follows like a silken cape, Intertwined together like imperfect snakes; So come, COME if you dare, Good Sir, Miss or Madame, approach but beware; For once you meet and come face to face, Your sanity will flee, and MADNESS will surely take it's place... ~ The Gentleman With A Cane 0--0 Hello Interested Person(s), If you have stumbled into this page to merely read the little ditty that is composed above and nothing more or less, than by all means enjoy. If you are here to criticize, argue, or instigate a fight than please be aware that I have both highly advanced literary skills and the brain-power to use them. The only thing remiss is my access to use the Internet, not my ability and as such I despise having my time wasted. Constructive criticism is greatly welcomed and much appreciated. If, by some small miracle or chance you are from one of my stories; then welcome, Dear Reader. To those who wish to glimpse into the mind of the 'mysterious author' than I am terribly sorry to disappoint you: I am quite insane. If, Dear Reader, you are here to pester/inquire/hunt down information pertaining to weather or not I update; well as I mentioned above- My access to the damnable thing called the 'Computer' that unlocks the wondrous little gizmo we call 'The Internet' is limited. Expect Updates to be scarce. Please note: I WILL NOT ABANDON ANY STORIES UNTIL THEY ARE COMPLETED. Rest assured, Dear Reader, that these are planned and already nearly fully completed. The only things that may hinder a story would be computer access, or that damnable thing that we all have to deal with called Life. 0--0 4/4/2016 Unfortunately, Dear Reader(s), my computer seems to be in the midst of having either a malfunction of epic proportions or is becoming possessed by a demonic entity. It would seem as though I need to upgrade from my current lab-top to a better one. Deepest apologies to any who are waiting for my current stories or waiting for a new one. 0-0 Describing personal views on the Plot-Bunny/Muse/Writers-Block Confusion: A PLOT-BUNNY is this- imagine having one of the most dreary, boring, mind-numbing days of your life. Of your entire existence if your dramatic enough in nature. Something that would make staring at paint drying ENJOYABLE and FUN; or even the notion of bashing your skull against the still drying walls. Now, again imagine, in this world of stagnant monochrome dullness a flash of SOMETHING - out of the ordinary, something extraordinary, something vibrant and filled with COLOR! It comes out of nowhere, blindsiding you as it fills all of your senses with wonder and imagination- Now your fingers are thrumming with this playful energy and your mind races with your digits as it unleashes it's torrent from pen to paper, paper to print- THIS is a plot-bunny, although depending on the species that surprises (or even TERRIFIES or AMUSES) you it may be a variation of any of the literary genres. The 'bunny' might even stay and eventually become a being magnificent and temperamental in nature; a being that is both savage and serene, beauty and beast - A MUSE. The 'muse' and 'Muse' I refer to are completely different (although some liken the two together as one and the same entity) - a 'muse' is someone who inspires you to write or a writer/artist/etc.. who your works aspires to (H. P. Lovecraft, Edgar Allen Poe, Dante Alighieri, Virgil (the poet, not the video game character), H.G. Wells, Mary Shelly; to name my own few.) A 'Muse' is similar to the function, yet comparing it to the aforementioned is like comparing a great, roaring lion to a small, mewling housecat. They whisper and sing melodious thoughts, play on the imagination and tend to it like a careful gardener. They breathe inspiration and creativity into your being (or soul, if you prefer) and fill your dreams with ever more possibilities. Some are female, others male; some are even genderless and most formless. Their personalities are sometimes fleeing and others serious, but they are all fragile and easily offended. Now to the dreaded THING- one who kills plot-bunnies and steals away Muses to rarely (if ever) be heard from again. Formless and unceasing, they are dreaded and feared - known only as WRITERS-BLOCK. That's not to say this entity is COMPLETELY evil- oh don't look at me like that, I'm trying to explain. As I was saying, it is not evil in the sense that too many plot-bunnies can start up too many stories- some stories that are well established can go off course because of a plot-bunny suggesting, for example, that the author of a science-fiction novel add in an elf or even a dragon; ending up with the reader pulling back from their screens and asking themselves, "What the Hell am I reading?" But writers-block is still annoying and highly aggravating- Plot bunny-Dragon issue aside, to a Muse a writer's-block is deadly. Some fade away, others come back changed and fractured. Mostly, I'd advise to let it run it's course. If you feel it come onto you, merely set aside what your doing and focus your attention elsewhere. This works for me, although all people are different in dealing with this annoyance. To close, plot-bunnies and writer-block are dreadfully annoying yet beneficial; treat your Muse with care and you will never be stuck with your writing's, and above all else: Enjoy yourself and welcome to the ancient craft known as storytelling. |
