What I like to read... I prefer fanfics that are canon and well-written (spelling/grammar mistakes are a massive turn-off) and I think it's really important to stay in character - I don't want to read about a stupid Dumbledore, a cowardly Harry or a kind Snape. Stories with unrealistic shippings (Hermione/Snape, for example) I avoid like the plague, and I hate it when there are content mistakes that could be avoided with a search on Harry Potter Wiki. What I like to write... I'm very interested in the era of The Marauders and I would love to write a fanfic from James Potter's point of view, detailing his adventures with the Marauders and his romance with Lily Evans from his first year and Hogwarts and continuing right up until his seventh year. However, I'm a perfectionist and never feel that my work is quite right, so I rarely post anything. Never say never, though! |
