After suffering through an Ebola pandemic that killed the Queen, Illea falls to ruin as the aftermath of such an event strikes. The drunk King, mourning his dead wife, has punished the country for their crimes against him and has shut himself away. The new Queen, taking over the role that the King has given up, attempts to piece Illea back together, but the more she tries to help, the more the country seems to fall apart. Even the king's son, Kole, the heir to the throne and son of the late Queen Jezebel, has fallen from grace. His playboy antics shield the depression that he's suffering. Drunk and broken like his father, Kole has become the man he never wanted to be. However, when the best and worst turn of events comes into play, Kole makes a decision to give the crown to his younger brother Kalum, the second prince. Noble and caring, Kalum wants nothing more than to save his older brother that he once looked up to. He wants nothing more than to put the rightful ruler on the throne. However, with secrets and lies, vengeance and betrayal, and a Selection, Kalum is wondering if he can save himself. The Royals King Darius Cyrus Schreave, age 48 King Darius has been broken by love. While he used to be a kind king that looked out for his country and his family, all that changed when a disease, he believed to be caused by the people, took his wife from him. Darius was a prince that had a passion for everything that he did, and that included love. When his wife, Queen Jolie, died, he put a great deal of passion into making the country that “killed his wife” pay for their mistakes. However, at some point, he just gave up. He remarried, had another child, and lost his passion for anything. He drowns himself in alcohol privately and publically. As a certified drunk, he’ll go to family dinners occasionally and will attend advisory meetings occasionally and will show up on the report occasionally, but every time, he usually has some form of alcohol in his system. The country hates him and he has lost all interest in the country, leaving it to his new wife and younger son, Kalum. The only person who receives any emotion from him whatsoever, is his first son, Kole. The only reason he ever calls Kole up to his office is to look at him and drink with him and cry with him about his dead mother, which is has driven Kole to becoming an alcoholic just like his father. Darius sees his Jolie whenever he sees Kole, which is why he takes out all of his pent up emotion and anger out on his son scarring him in the process. FACE CLAIM: Nikolaj Coster-Waldau Queen Jolie Arabella Schreave, deceased at age 23 Queen Jolie was born a Six and entered the selection when she was only 20, a year younger than the King at that time. Their love story was one to go down in history as she charmed Darius with her sweet, yet determined, nature. She brought out the best in him and challenged him, seeing as she entered to help her family. When they met, he was entranced by her and the way she carried herself. The Selection was over in only a month in a half and they were married immediately. The people loves her, not only as a Queen, but as a person. She was always loving and charming and knew how to deal with political matters is as graceful a way as possible. When their son, Kole, was born, she was also the most devoted mother. Even with her duties as Queen, Jolie couldn’t go 2 hours without seeing her darling boy. The nanny barely even had a job! She raised him and played with him and Darius loved him to. He looked so much like her. Back then, he was a good King and a good father because of her. And then, she got sick. The Ebola virus had spread through the country and into the palace, where she was infected. She died slowly and painfully, surrounded by all the best doctors in Illea who could do nothing, and her husband and son. The country of Illea mourned her death, and some still believe that it was the worst thing to ever happen to Illea considering the effect it had on the King. Some, however, don’t even remember Queen Jolie and her legendary love. They much prefer the new Queen, Jezebel. FACE CLAIM: Alison Brie Queen Jezebel Adrienne Schreave, age 43 Jezebel was born and raised a Two. As the daughter of a wealthy socialite and the German Ambassador, Jezebel was born for greatness. She was bred to accomplish great things and carry on a great line. Her beauty and charm got her far in the world of the Twos and in the eyes of the public. So, when it was suggested that the King marry her for political advancement, everyone rejoiced and felt the idea was brilliant. Jezebel is intelligent and poised and knows how to get things done, one way or another. Many things can be said about the beautiful Queen Jezebel, but she is neither dumb nor lazy. If anything, she's ambitious - overly ambitious. Jezebel will do whatever it takes to get what she wants, but she always makes sure that she does it logically and gracefully. She was never opposed to a political marriage and gladly accepted the proposal. Who wouldn't want to become Queen? She eagerly took the offer, seeing as it was her greatest ambition and accepted the fact that her husband didn't love her.The only thing that she wouldn't accept was being ignored entirely by her husband. Especially when her stepson, the son of her husband's former wife, was the only one who ever received any attention from the man. She hates Kole. She hates him and prefers to act like he doesn't exist. He's a problem... in many different ways. Her son, Kalum, however, is the apple of her eye. She raised him the way that she was raised and taught him how to act and how to think towards what you want. Jezebel is adored by the public for her efforts to help with the continuous disasters, and many think that she would be better on the throne than her husband. Jezebel thinks that too... FACE CLAIM: Anabelle Wallis Prince Kole Alexander Schreave, age 26 Prince Kole is a broken Prince. To the rest of Illea he’s the spoiled playboy drunk, who doesn’t really care about the country. To the rest of Illea, he’s just like his father. Seeing his mother die painfully in front of his eyes and growing up with a father that tortured him with her memory scarred Kole and caused him to loose his belief in himself. As a child, Kole imagined himself being a better King than his father and helping the people like a good King would. His younger brother Kalum was his best friend and still is to this day, but instead of Kole looking out for Kalum, Kalum now looks out for Kole. This kills him. It all started about 5 years after his mother's death, 3 years after Kalum was born. His father started to pay attention to him for the fist time since her death, but it wasn't a good thing. Being called to his father's office to either drink, cry, or be beaten for the memory of her makes him believe more and more that he's just like his father. Even though he's charming and sly on the outside, on the inside, he's dying. He sees his brother being raised by a loving mother and he sees him become the man that he always wanted to be. So he doesn't even try anymore. He escapes on his private jet, picking up women as he goes, and drinking his way to the grave. Just like his father and because of his father, he's a certified alcoholic. Even though he has a nonchalant playboy exterior, Kole is truly an idealist and thrives off of his ideals. When they are shattered, he shatters. He might play it off like he doesn't care or that he doesn't want to listen to fairytales and such, but really he loves it. No one sees that side of him though, except for his brother. Kole is loved by the ladies of Illea and charms most of the people he meets face to face, but with his infrequent appearances at national events and frequent appearances in the tabloids, no one would trust him to rule the country. At this point. Kole doesn't even trust himself to rule the country. FACE CLAIM: Simon Nessman Prince Kalum Adrian Schreave, age 21 Prince Kalum is the white Knight in shining armor. He's the valiant hero that comes to save the day and only looks out for the good of people. He cares about his country and his family, and most importantly, his brother. Even though he's just his half brother and part of Kalum has always been jealous of Kole, he always looked up to him. While he wanted to play the King sometimes, he saw his place as the knight and took it gladly. Raised by his mother and only his mother, Kal was truly the one raised to be King. Even though he's extremely smart and capable, Kal can sometimes be a bit naïve. He's too trusting and doesn't always see through people. He does, however, have a good heart, while he may be naïve and trusting, he believes in honor and nobility and doing the right thing. That's why the people love him. Kalum is always trying to help the people throughout all of the continuous disasters that keep occurring. While Kole might be loved for his "charisma", Kal is loved for his heart and responsibility. The thing is, Kal doesn't always see himself as a leader. He needs recognition for what he does, which is his fatal flaw. His insecurity is the death of him, but it's different from Kole's. Kole doesn't believe he can do anything, Kal doesn't believe that anything he does will ever be enough to satisfy his father or himself. To be king though... while that might've been something that he wanted when he was little, kal doesn't want it anymore. It's not his role. Kal doesn't see himself as a King because that wasn't meant for him. It was meant for his brother. Kal intends to help his brother from his darkness and get him to see the good that he can do as King, because he wants nothing more than to see his brother happy again. Not only that, but Kal knows that Kole used to believe in himself and he used to believe that he could be a good king, so he wants to get him back to that point. He wants to save his brother, because that's what a Knight does for his King. FACE CLAIM: Max Irons The Selected 1.
