Waking up a Death Knight, she can't remember Turning, and yet at the height of Arthas' reign she must fight with the Argent Crusade against the deadliest enemy of their times. This story is one I have wanted to share for a long time. I present to you, a *very* special one shot to commemorate the second birthday of "The Northrend Chronicles". This is dedicated to all who have shown their support in the last two years of publishing- thank you.

The period after the cinematic that Arthas has returned from Northrend and killed his father the king. Its very short, more of scene.

What does a Death Knight see when they turn? What process is it that brings them into the arms of Arthas, The Lich King? Why do they swear fealty to this tyrant? After it was suggested to me that I publish this piece separately, I present to you 'Death Knight', a chapter lifted directly from my story 'The Northrend Chronicles' that will answer these questions.

According to lore sources, Arthas did not in fact kill and raise Sylvanas on the battlefield during the Scourge Invasion of Quel'thalas. Instead, he kept her alive for some time to properly punish her for her defiance. Content Warning: This work contains descriptions of torture.

Aethra Dawnblade, risen by Arthas as a Death Knight for his services, was an Argent Crusader in life. She knew the fate of those too weak to fight, and so shut off all feelings and memories of her time in the Crusade. But that all changed at the Battle of Light's Hope, where she happened upon an old, and rather close, friend of hers. Dedicated to those freed from Arthas's grasp!

Jaina and Arthas find themselves at the point of no return when they discover the infected grain in Stratholme. This is a little drabble I did for a 30 day challenge. The prompt was "beginning."

The Lich King has just been killed, and Jaina reflects upon his absence from her life. She questions if her former lover truly had a shred of light within him at the end.

Arthas stopped in front of the man, his eyes falling to Jaina's ashen face, so calm in death. 'At peace,' some forgotten part of his mind whispered to him. "She is but dross, like all the others." AU.

The story of why the Lich King Arthas ripped out his own heart. Jaina visits Northrend to try to save the man she once loved - and maybe learn to forgive all that he has done. Originally written for a Blizzard fanfic contest in 2009, this fit the canon at the time, but is now AU.
