Hallo. I'm Scottish, female, old enough to be Harry's mother. I like reading, writing, television, films, and puzzles, especially killer sudoku. My favourite books are Lord of the Rings and the Silmarillion. I like Harry Potter for the magic, humour, inventiveness and good dialogue, and for the wonderful world JKR created which we can all play in and make up stories about. And its characters: I love Hermione, Crookshanks, Sirius, Hedwig, Hagrid, Dobby, Colin and the Remus Lupin of Books 3 and 5. The only pairing I like well enough to read and write about is Sirius/Remus. I hate all which pair either of those with anyone else, and especially those which pair Remus with a woman. I not only won't read Remus/Tonks, I won't knowingly read anything written by anyone who has ever written Remus/Tonks. Apart from that, I'm quite tolerant, though I admit to a preference for correct grammar, spelling and punctuation. However, I'm aware that many writers here don't have English as their first language, and I admire their bravery in writing in a language not their own. I don't like angst, though I can appreciate it when it's well-written but I don't usually read an angsty story twice. I like humour; clever funny stories are difficult to write, but when they're well done they beat everything.
