Grant Ward had a chance to run, to escape with HYDRA when they tried to rescue him but he stayed. He fought HYDRA, saved agents who beat him for fun and stayed beside the girl who he'd betrayed and lost. When asked why, he only stated "somethings are more important than freedom." And she is, more important than his own freedom but is she also his chance at redemption?

Skye develops a new ability she can't quite control, but May is there to catch her when she falls.

He was now free, away from anyone holding him back. But what was he to do when the entire country was against him? Would there be anything to do? His only choice would be to slip into the shadows, be unseen. Given his new found free will, Ward decided to do something for the better.
