Using the dimension cannon Rose has finally made it back from Pete's world, but she has still not quite reached her destination. The Doctor she finds is younger, lighter somehow, and has absolutely no idea who she is. Together they work to get her back where she needs to be, and along the way they manage to fall for each other yet again... or for the first time.

Just as the Sixth Doctor regenerates and nearly kills Peri, Rose materialises inside the console room after using the dimension cannon and stops him. By that notion, the Ponds go to a flower shop and buy a rose, only to run into a certain former companion.

Rose's TARDIS key is proving to have changed just as much as the Doctor has, in his tenth body. She's kept it on a chain that she keeps round her neck, and whenever she's nervous, she sucks on it.
