His power was limitless, and yet, in the same moment, it was nothing. He was everywhere the comprehensive thought existed, and yet he was no-where at all. Ageless and timeless, heartless and compassionless, yet in the same moment of time he would do anything - in fact, had done anything and everything- all for the want of love. He was without end, and yet a single moment of kindness could stop him in his tracks for the rest of eternity. For some people, at least. Yet for others there was no chance, even though they may have been shown all the kindness in the world. He didn't have to wait for his prey. Many would throw themselves eagerly into his arms in order to try to make sense of this world. And yet other still would never know him. He lived in between the worlds of life and death, a part of both, and yet, at the same time, entirely separate from them. When a man died he could ride with the life force, up to the boundary of the next world. Had, in fact, done this many times. And sometimes, when he was riding the life it would be turned around, and drawn back. Sometimes, he would brush against the earth, stirring the minds of men, and fostering new ages of darkness. This is the story of some of his ..lives...? No, Not lives. Simply existences. He had gone by many different names. He was Corruption, as the only one of the men whom he had acutally tried to reward in turn has called him. That man had been a master of men, and a lord of Time it's self. In some ways, the Prince's own powers had been able to rival his. Another name, almost lost in the mists of time, had been Crowley. While legends may have changed he knew whom he had really been. Another name, which would never be forgotten, as long as man could remember. Hitler. He had been pulling the strings behind that as well. Demon. Deva. Sorcerer. Monster. Man. The only difference between them all was the amount of power that they each held. He was none of them. He was all of them. The first life that he was willing to share, was the most meaningful ... |
