I'm a retired aerospace engineer in the Los Angeles area who never expected to become a writer!

As a novice scribe, I came to this site two years ago to compare writing styles--by seeing how different authors treated a common setting and characters. To make my study as pleasant as possible, I chose my favorite movie as the subject! (A fan from the first trailer, the number of Zootopia theater stubs I have will remain classified)

I was surprised by the overall quality of the stories here. Bottom line; I became hooked on WildeHopps fluff. I’ve now read enough pleasurable—and for me needed--Zootopian escapism, that I’ve decided to release my own initial effort into the wild.

Hopefully, It can provide in return, a small measure of the enjoyment I've found here from a large group of talented authors.

Over the last years, I’ve spent many pleasant hours immersed in the world of Zootopia, courtesy of those stories.
I occasionally had thoughts of contributing my own story, but was dissuaded by the plethora of clever plots, scenes and new characters, and of course every possible variation of WildeHopps that I’d already read! Somewhat late to the (written) fandom, I despaired of ever coming up with something original on my own.

Many problems can be solved by a sufficient application of time—as mine was. I found myself repeatedly thinking about how this multi-species society came about, and what would be needed to sustain it. There were issues only briefly touched on in the movie, or rarely in stories. How does the economy work? What laws would be needed? Would technologies differ? What are the real separators and discriminators between species? Are there historical and developmental issues that remain relevant?

Fertile fodder for stories, but did I have the talent to weave potentially dry lectures into an entertaining tale?

ALL of the preceding have earned their place on the Best-of-the-Best list of Zootopia fanfiction!

I also enjoy editing, and am MUCH faster at it than writing. I'm willing to beta for Zootopia, and am so listed here.
