My name is Jessica. I'm 28 years old and live in a small town in North Carolina. I've almost been married two years and come May I'll be training to be an EMT (Emergency Medical Tech). I can't think of a better use of my time than spending it with my husband or writing when he's otherwise occupied. For those wondering, I've been writing fanfiction since 2001 and I've been writing original stuff (stories, poetry, etc) for much, much longer.

My favorite authors include (but are not limited to):

Ursula K. Le Guin (the Earthsea Cycle, the Hainish Series, etc)

James Clavell (Shogun, King Rat, etc)

Barb & J.C. Hendee (the Noble Dead Saga)

Robert Heinlein (Starship Troopers)

Jennifer Robertson (the Sword-Dancer series)

and L.J. Smith (a favorite of mine back in the late 90's before most people even knew who she was...and yes, I am gloating)

I don't know what I would say about my style of writing, other than I'm not sure what to call it. Words others have chosen to use include "descriptive", "realistic", and "emotional". Personally, I wouldn't know...half of the time I can't stand my own work and wonder if I should just hang up my spurs and call it a day.

But here are a few general rules about my stories:

- I have tried writing lemons, but find them tedious and embarrasing affairs. Don't be disappointed if they don't appear.

- Though I have and do occasionally read yaoi/yuri stories, I will not write them unless they're a clearly established part of canon. Don't ask me to write them.

- I prefer reading a few long chapters, than several short, choppy ones. Don't expect me to update every other day.

- I have a life outside of writing fan-fiction. I have a job, a husband, and responsibilities. Don't hound me about updating. I will update when time and inspiration allow.

In short, I am willful and eclectic, but easy to get along with in most cases. Feel free to write me, ask me questions, or engage in general chit-chat. I promise I won't bite (unless, of course, you're into that kind of thing, LOL.)
