an attempt to tip the scales

So.

Uh.

Yeah.

I haven't been active on here for ages. I should probably be beating myself with a stick right now--summer is the only time I've got an icicle's chance in hell of getting any actual writing done, and here I am trolling /b/ and eating Doritos by the bag instead. Life fail.

But I've been reading over my old story "Call It What You Want, But It Isn't Love", and that is what's brought me out from under my rock to talk to you today. The story sucks so badly/ makes so little sense that I can't begin to describe it. And I'm not even interested in Redwall anymore. But I have to fix this thing. It's an embarrassment to writing and to myself.

It will remain to be seen in the coming weeks whether I can actually pull myself together and pound out some pages. I'm not sure right now whether I want to redo what I already have or try to resurrect it by taking it in a new direction. I think actually going through each chapter and straightening out the mistakes would be too painful, so I'll probably opt for plowing on ahead. I also have a number of other plotbunnies (for various other fandoms) that I want to get written.

I have mounds of summer work, haven't written in ages and haven't read for pleasure in even longer. Depression will soon be celebrating its one-year anniversary. Wish me luck. Maybe this will help me make writing a daily thing. And who knows, maybe it'll even help me get started on those epic novels I've been meaning to write for a while.
