[17/08/2019] -Hi all! Just want to thank everyone for the love and support despite the long wait. These past few months had been a whirlwind of emotions and changes, but I am now in a better place. As I've started a new job, I don't have as much time to write as before. The draft for chapter 14 is still in progress. It may be a while before I can start editing it - but I am not giving up on Hollyhock!

Summary:
Aoi was a girl of mysterious origin. A girl who was loved by her adoptive parents, struck up an unlikely friendship with a standoffish boy, and befriended an enemy. During the warring-states-period, it's hard to preserve such fantastical life. She lost her loved ones before. She's about to lose more than her name and a loved one.

[ON INDEFINITE HIATUS] Prince of Tennis: Always Look on the Bright Side of Life

Unfortunately, I am currently busy dealing with life issues. I don't know when I'll start updating again. I have gradually lost interest in the Prince of Tennis franchise since starting postgraduate studies. I really enjoyed writing and looking up on ways to improve myself that sometimes I wished I could write again. Who knows? Maybe I'll pick up this story again in the future. I deeply apologise to my readers who have waited (perhaps waiting) for updates.

Summary:
Noda Akemi pretty much expected nothing extravagant in Japan after 16 years of unassuming existence. However, she soon discovers the dangers of holding preconceived opinions. Caught in the whirlwind of confusion, she ends up as manageress of Rikkai's tennis club after a prank terribly backfired on a certain trickster. Can it get any worse than this? Indubitably (Eventual OC x ?)

Behind the Scenes:
'Always Look on the Bright Side of Life' by Eric Idle partly inspired the theme of the POT I'm writing and also for the title. So, props to Monty Python!

Apart from the mundane 'slice of life', 'coming of age' plays a huge role in the story's development, which is the reason I chose to set the fanfic 2 years after the PoT timeline when most of the canon characters are in senior high school.

In terms of writing style, consistency might vary (not too much) depending on the 'mood' of the chapter and POVs.

Although romance is included in the genre, I think it's more appropriate if the story doesn't jump onto that bandwagon straight from the start. Which is why I'd set the 'friendship' before 'romance' in the genre. If you find the plot development slow, it's mainly due Akemi's relationship with the characters are still growing from a seedling. It's a pivotal point of the story. I won't say much though. Don't want to spoil.

[COMPLETED] Prince of Tennis: Looking Glass

Summary:
[Side-story] As if leaving behind the one place she'd called home for more than a decade wasn't enough, Noda Akemi somehow ended up in a strange world. But the people (and animals) that kept appearing around her certainly looked familiar; from a perceptive owl with his eyes perpetually shut, to a pompous White King.

A sidestory to 'Always Look on the Bright Side of Life'. This is a what-if POT meets Lewis Carroll, C. S. Lewis, and Studio Ghibli. Takes place 'between' chapter 13 and 14 of the original story.

I would recommend reading 'Always Look on the Bright Side of Life' first. Otherwise some of the OCs and Akemi's relationship with the other tennis regulars will confuse you.
