The overall theme of SoD is, "becoming more than what fate shaped you to be". Frieza's fate takes a different path as he tries to come to terms with being spared by his hated enemy.

Frieza makes a different choice against Goku on Namek and his life takes a drastically different course. As his empire and family crumble away from him, Frieza must rise from the ashes and become a hero in a galaxy that fears and despises him.

Gohan is kidnapped by Raditz and against his will, is forced to work alongside him, Vegeta, and Nappa under Frieza. These are his struggles, as he's exposed to a world no child should have to experience.

The train of time DenLiner, passes through time on a never-ending journey. A girl who wants to fly, and the protectors who shield her collide. From beginning to end, the adventure is nothing short of a climax.
