When Armin Arlert is just about to get some rest at the end of the day, he stops to review his reasoning over Annie Leonhardt, who had just almost recently betrayed the fight against the titans, and how he might be able to get her out of her crystal. Armin wants to be Annie's friend, but she thinks he should stop and let go before it's too late, because she knows her betrayal is going to hurt him.

It all started with simple glances in to her direction and thanks to that he was now lying on the ground with her stepping on him, demanding for answers.

"You're too kind for your own good," She whispered. "It'll get you killed soon enough."

Armin messes up during training, and Annie's the one who ends up hurt. As Armin takes care of her Annie notices that he's different than she thought.

The Corporal is predictable-Hanji knows that. She knows that he wakes up early to exercise and takes his coffee the same way every time..she even knows that he'll clean up your messes himself if you're not doing it right. Predictable. But now ...now he's going out of his way just to prove Hanji wrong. He can be pretty unpredictable, if he really wants to.
