By chapter 3 you will be on edge and by chater 4 you will see the irony for the characters and be crying tears of fustration on their behalf. I want to shamelessly toot my IDOL's horn here because I totally idolise her interesting witing. A HUGE recomendation (it's singled out, so it must be good) - read 'Living with danger' by 'whydoyouneedtoknow' because her characterisation annd plot suspense and logical development and empathy-evoking-writing-techniques are THE BEST. You will be interested and enjoy it from the first sentence (guaranteed) and her writing quality in this fic NEVER declines (only gets better in my oppinion - she's trying to be a full time author and has already published a fiction book).

JKR wrote it as Asteria. There's an "e" there, not an "o". And given a choice, I'm more likely to think Time got it wrong, not JKR. It makes sense that it is Asteria: 1.) She is a figure of Greek mythology like Draco, Daphne and Scorpius. A Greek goddess connected to divination, astrology and necromancy. 2.) Asteria means "starry, falling star" which fits with the whole star theme the Black/Malfoys have going. 3.) Asteria was a Titan, like Hyperion. That means Scorpius Hyperion Malfoy was named after his mother and his father. 4.) The aster, like the narcissus, is a flower. So Asteria, like Narcissa, has a floral name.

That is why I advocate the use of Asteria Greengrass and not "Astoria".

If you give 'couple names' to the Harry Potter couples -

James and Lily Potter are: 'Lames' or 'Jily'

Harry and Ginny Potter are: 'Hinny' or 'Garry'

My take on Snape's welcome to the afterlife - (In case it's not obvious, I'll clarify my thoughts; I think Snape's a martyr and Lily doesn't deserve both his and James's love.)

"Wha- Lily? Is it, is it you? It really is you. Lily! I'm so glad to see you. Where are we?"

"Oh Sev! Look around! Is it not obvious this is heaven? I have been waiting to see you, and it has been really great seeing you again, but I have to go right now. Harry needs me. I can feel the pull now; I have to go."

"Wait! Lily! Are you-" Snape's voice broke. Every passing second she was getting fainter and fainter, less real. "Are you going to come back?" he whispered.

"I, I don't know. I think I might be back, but I'm not sure. After all this time being up here, I've never felt anything like it before. Even while watching my only child grow, I've never felt like he's needed me anymore than he does now. It's almost as if, he's summoning me. You know what I mean?" Snape didn't. It was beyond the point of comprehension, knowing that the only girl he'd ever loved - the girl that has been dead for sixteen years - was leaving him once again. So he did what he know best; he lied. Because he knew that's what she wanted to hear...

I can't fanthom a worse outcome than not trying. Anything else which could conceivably happen wouldn't be worse.

It's how you live your life - what you say and do to others and yourself - that makes you who you are. Even - no, especially - for adults. Hmm, there's a thought about neuroplasticity in adults. It's cool beans to step out of your comfort zone.

Lack of egoism - to be humble and not proud, sure, but more importantly, to have no qualms about crying in front of others, or accepting pity and sympathy. If you are the sort of person who would skip out of a situation to avoid embarrassment to yourself, then you probably do have an ego, and you don't want to puncture it.

When you feel angry, it means that you don't think the situation is fair. Angry means you think something ought to be different and that the situation is undeserved. When you feel sad, you feel that the situation is deserved.

Just sums up the Silmarillion and LOTR for me: "Hatred is a slow poison that kills everything it touches, eventually turning inward and destroying even the one who harbors it. " Hear that Sauron, and Morgoth?

If people ask: "What are you thinking?" The answer: "Nothing, really. Just little things I need to do." It's usually (surprisingly often) technically not a lie, and even better, it can usually be elaborated on quite easily, and convincingly.
