Hey, thanks for takin' the time to check out my bio. That said, try not to fall asleep. !) I'm not entirely new to fanfiction.net. I just couldn't stand any of the stories posted under my former name, so I opened a new account. I'm partial to Harry Potter fanfics for the most part, but I will occasionally thumb through the Lord of the Rings section of the site. One thing I will absolutely not read is any story with a Mary-Sue and/or Gary-Stu. I can't speak for everyone, but I personally don't like a character that's "perfect and loved by everyone" or "always moody and misunderstood because they've had a hard life." There's just no depth, nothing to really learn from or about the character, except perhaps that the author in question has inserted themselves into their ideal fantasy of how they would wish to interact with the characters of the original story. I have nothing against the above genre of fanfics IF they are NOT posted; quite the contrary, I think it's better to get it out of your system and keep it to yourself rather than post some sickeningly romantic story that doesn't mean anything to anyone but yourself. Then again, that is just my opinion on the matter. !) Other than writing, my passions include reading, swimming, and listening to music while I do any of the above. I'm also very interested in different religious beliefs, and my general opinion on THAT matter is that as long as it works for you and you're not hurting yourself/anyone else, then it's perfectly acceptable. Things that bug me include ignorance, "fake" people, and people who think (or in their opinion, KNOW) that they are right and the heck with everybody else. I know what I'm about to say is seriously cliche, but why can't we all just get along??? Phew, kudos to anyone who's still awake! Anyway, that's all I'll bore you with for now. Thanks for being interested enough to read! :) |
