Life as an ANBU soldier is harder than Tenzo expected it to be, and he's beginning to crack under the pressure after the loss of two teammates. He turns to Kakashi for answers, only to realize his captain may not have them either. When they get thrown into their most dangerous mission, things begin to fall apart in ways Kakashi never could have foreseen.

Kakashi learns that silent alarms and Anko's adventurousness are never a good combination.

In less than five minutes, Tenzo had turned his entire world upside down, stealing the breath from his lungs, and the logic from his mind. Kakashi wanted Tenzo, as much as he'd ever wanted anything. He wanted to wrap around the other man and lose himself in the consuming ache, forgetting the rest of the world in favor of living in this moment.

A man stepped through the door, shutting it soundlessly behind him, and for a moment, Kakashi forgot to breathe. The white cat mask, and the tousled brown hair that it held back, were achingly familiar. (aka Kakashi forgot how good Tenzo looks in uniform)

Tenzo wanted to curse his captor, but the muscles of his throat locked tight. He couldn't force out a breath, much less words. He wanted to display the power resulting from this man's experiments, wood style tearing through his chest and heart. Instead, he stood frozen, trembling and transfixed by the golden eyes that haunted his nightmares.

Genma rubbed behind his ear in frustration at his teammates. "Genma, I swear if you take out that earpiece, I'm going to have Sarutobi mark you for D-ranks for the rest of your natural life." Kakashi snarled.

Tenzou is wide-eyed, bright faced and unprepared for the ANBU life ahead of him. MOSTLY because of the unorthodox team he's placed into. However, it was done in his best interest, and Hiruzen is smart enough to know what is best for most young shinobi. Kakashi disagrees, but he is one of those young shinobi who doesn't know whats best for him. (kakayama)(yaoi)(kakashi x tenzou).
