I'm Novum Arkilum from Finland, founder of The Beginners Guide To FanFiction, (looking for skilled Admins, the regular duties of Administration plus teaching new writers as well) a new forum dedicated to new writers and those who are struggling with their stories or those who struggle to write in English.

I have been writing since Aug-3-2014, under the user name Arkilos.

where the stories, Contritum and Pokemon legacy come from, feel free to visit my old page and visit the old stories, though do not expect them to be on par on what I write now.

I write mostly for the Harry Potter fandom, however, can also be found in other fandoms.

For those writing stories of your own, Remember.

1. Read twice as much as you write- learn from the mistake of others and your own.

2. Keep things simple and as easy as possible for yourself. Writing in a way that is difficult or about something you don't understand will show in the quality of your work.

3. Quality over speed: Readers come for an experience, so don't be afraid to take your time and make sure it's a good experience that you can take pride in.

4. Never be afraid to ask questions: Nobody on this website expects you to be a pro, and everyone, including pros, need to ask questions every now and then, so don't bottle them up or try to find answers on your own, just reach out and ask. And if you en counter any one who does expect you to be a pro, than it is far better to just ignore them.

5. ”For whatever language you write in, do a good job with wording and grammar. If that language is not your first language, you are strongly encouraged to find and use someone as a beta reader/editor where that language is their first language -- and be willing to learn from them.” (Kbo)
