 Hmmmm. About me... I have been reading on ff.net for years and only just now made an account for myself. I like character ensembles to the point of obsession, so I gravitate to fan fiction because in the ff universe, I don't have to let them go. The hard part is finding good fics with the characters and qualities I want to read about. On this site, I scan through hundreds of stories to the find well written ones, mostly in the Harry Potter realm. But let's be frank, kids, there's a lot of crap on this site. PET PEEVES: I cannot stand stories about babies, with nonsense-garbled baby dialogue, cutesie descriptions of bumbling idiots changing nappies. Gag. I can't stand reading about young parents with their toddler children, and the exhaustion from allowing the kids to run wild. I hate stream of consciousness stories. It's incoherent and a disappointing drag to read, especially when the plot description sounds good. Writers, if you take a character into the OOC realm, at least try to make their speech and mannerisms tie in to the canon character, otherwise, you may as well give them a new name because they become unrecognizable. I'm just saying.That's it for now. |
