I was given the writing challenge for a random act of violence against Neal (it seems to be a common theme and one I'm certainly well versed in). I decided to go humorous with it. Short little one shot Peter/Neal scene not to be taken too seriously.

Neal's confrontation with his father goes a little differently than he had planned and James does something he might regret. (AU from the end of 4x16 "In the Wind")

Not all heroes wear a cape. But, some of them wear badges. Neal Caffrey is a 15 yr old artist threatened to create forgeries for an abusive father. When his father takes it one step too far, a certain Agent Burke shows up to help pick up the pieces and give this mistreated con a life that he deserves. "Mm...bleeding..." Neal breathed. "...m'scared, Peter..." "I know. I know, buddy. You gotta hold on, okay? We're just around the corner." Peter said something about driving faster. "I'm coming. Okay, Neal? I'm coming for you."

Neal comes in on Monday morning looking like he managed to get himself into a fight. He denies that anything is wrong, of course, but Peter is determined to get to the bottom of it. Neal!Whump. Beta'd!

Neal's tracker shows he is out of his radius as a snowstorm blankets the city. The marshals think he is attempting to flee but Peter knows better.

Missing scenes from Vital Signs. An excess of adorability, with cuddly Neal acting like a koala and Peter being grouchy and protective. Peter figures something important out about his CI (besides the fact that he's impossible to keep a seat belt on when drugged!), and Neal practices his singing-while-drugged skills on an unappreciative Peter and a very sympathetic El. Neal was on the brink of murdering Fowler with a stolen gun. He's led away in cuffs. The next thing we see is Neal, Peter, and Fowler calmly discussing the case in Peter's office.
