Author has written 7 stories for Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Song of the Lioness. It's been 10 years now and, looking back on things, I don't know how much I've changed since my FanFiction days. I've gone to college. Graduated. Gone to graduate school. . . which I pray I'll have the steely resolution to graduate from as well. I've taken creative writing classes. Taught them. Developed acne, battled it, and conquered it. Seen four continents but still haven't held a 100 bill. (With a writer and teacher's paycheck, who knows if I'll ever indulge in that frivolity.) And now I'm back here at FanFiction, reading Harry Potter stories, musing about how to make myself a diverting read. Biographies and webprofiles have never been my forte, but maybe this is a good place to start. I've kept this account, which I started in middle school, for nostalgia's sake. I'm a 20-something teacher of writing and student of literature. My emphasis is in eighteenth-century parody and satire, but I may switch that to Gothic Studies. My fiction, I think, has improved in the 10-year hiatus I have taken from Fanfiction, but I'm not sure if I'll be putting any up as most is not fan-based. Still, it is very amusing -- because I'm a fan of public humiliation -- to keep my angst-riddled, halting FanFiction up on the web. And who knows? Perhaps I'll come full-circle and try my hand in some new genres. |
